The topic that this book deals with is a must for today's world. But, as you said, it could have been told simpler and better.

Reconceptualizing Mental Illness in the Digital Age by Jr. Elliott B. Martin is a book that discusses how advancement in technology has resulted in a rise in mental disorders, suicides, and depression cases. This is not a topic I usually read, so I'll skip this one. Congratulations on the BOTD!

When I first read the title and learned about the subject, I thought it would be interesting. There are a lot of issues in the world today that need to be addressed. Suicide is on the rise and I think the digital age has a lot to do with it. However, after reading your review, I realized that this book is not for me. I struggle to get through a book if I'm not interested in the subject. It is a great, honest review. Thank you.

Congrats on BOTD!
The digital age presents an intriguing and vital opportunity for discussion on mental health. Reviewing "normal versus pathological" is a great concept, especially because it looks like some conditions are still underdiagnosed and some traits are pathologized. One further advantage is the author's skill at using comedy to make their points.

With everything happening now, including wars, we have to be worried about our or others mental well-being. I think this book is perfect timing and can give a couple of lessons about the mental issue. Your review tone is kind of harsh on the negatives of the book, though. :)

This review of "Reconceptualizing Mental Illness in the Digital Age" by Elliott B. Martin, Jr. provides a nuanced look at the book's insights and challenges. It sounds like Martin's exploration of mental illness, addiction, and the impact of media is both profound and thought-provoking. However, the complex and sometimes confusing writing style might require a bit more patience from readers. 📚🧠 While the book's depth and historical context are commendable, it seems best suited for those with a keen interest in psychology and the patience to navigate its dense prose. Intrigued by the blend of personal opinions and scientific ideas, though! 🤔

I can believe that mental illness has changed in the digital age. Opinions from a trained psychiatrist should be valuable and interesting. It's a pity that the writing style is so convoluted, it will make it very difficult to enjoy reading the book. Thank you for the honest review.
