I'd like to read this. Partly because you made it sound so captivating and fantastic and I also find the idea of reading stories about someone who grew up entirely different than me fansinating. Great review on what I hope to be a great book!

These memoirs look appealing. The inclusion of stories about the author's ancestors who immigrated to the United States gives it a touch of distinction. It strikes me that she has blended real and imaginary events, which is not common in a memoir. The writing style seems to reflect the emotions experienced. Sounds interesting.

A very honest memoir, this book contains stories from the author's life that we can all relate to. The most relatable aspect is the author's relationship with her mother and how things her mother said impacted the author into adulthood. The detailed descriptions of these events come to life when reading this book. Congrats on the BOTD!

I reviewed a memoir a while ago and I loved the raw emotions and brutal honesty of the author. I have similar feelings about this book after reading the review. The ever changing Family dynamics are best described in memoirs is what I feel. I would love to check the book put. congrats on BOTD.

A memoir of real and imagined memories seems to be a daring thing to put on paper. The author should be applauded, truly.

Thank you for the great review.

Like most memoirs, this is a gripping tale and well captured by the review. Many immigrants can relate to this story. Family dynamics feature a lot here and shows how decisions and quality of life can be influenced by some occurrences. For example divorce impacts on young people and some decisions are difficult to fathom. Sometimes there is so much weight placed on young shoulders. Thank you for pointing out these key elements. Great review.

I love how this collection of stories not only touches on the author's life, but also about her ancestors who immigrated to the United States.

This is a nonfiction book focusing on the author’s life and family history including her ancestors. She recalls experiences including hurts as a young child through adulthood with emotion and honesty. When her parents divorced, Hart describes how her life changed. Her father treated her differently, especially after he remarried. Intriguing memoir and a good book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I am not too fond of memoirs. This doesn’t seem like a book that might interest me. It is nice to hear that the author captured her emotions well but still not the best fit for me.

I don't typically read memoirs, so I'll be skipping this book. However, from the sections that I read, the author has a lovely, simple style to support the words of the child narrator. It's quite endearing. Congratulations to Ms. Hart on earning BOTD.
