Definitely not my cup of tea, because I really doubt it is possible to teach "art appreciation" to someone if they simply do not feel it. Aesthetic taste and sense of beauty are innate, in my opinion, and this is why one admires a painting when other wish to vandalize it.

"Negative Shapes: The Defining Attribute" sounds like a thought-provoking exploration of art and perspective. I’m intrigued by its focus on negative space and the author's passion for artistic expression. Despite the slow start, it seems like a rewarding and insightful read. Congrats BOTD!

Art is a very exciting part of life, being able to paint pictures that actually speaks brings so much joy to the artist. I'm an art lover and finding a book that encourages art is an exciting thing for me
I would also want to learn from the author's experience.

Today's BOTD explores the idea of negative space beyond art, applying it to human experiences such as decision-making and creative processes. Readers will learn how the BETWEEN - the space of waiting and planning - can help us reflect on the past and prepare for the future, allowing us to grow as individuals. Sounds like a must-read! Thank you for the wonderful review! Bravo! :-)

Negative Shape - The Defining Attribute by Christine Archer explores the concept of "negative shape," initially rooted in artistic theory, and expands it to broader experiences and relationships. It delves into the "between" moments—anticipation, planning, and reflection—emphasizing their importance in shaping our understanding of ourselves and our decisions.

The review expressed the content of the book well. I didn't guess from the title that the topic was about art. It is a beautiful thing to show the importance of art in expressing oneself and almost everything. Congrats on BOTD

It is a book that explains the rudiments of drawing, painting, and art in general where the author discusses art’s sentimental value and importance to the world. Also the Christine narrates various experiences and worldviews from her perspective throughout the book and shows a lot of enthusiasm while at it. Wonderful BOTD.

Thank you for an interesting review. From just reading the sample of this book, I am somewhat confused about some of the concepts. However, I think that the idea of using the creative arts, and negative shapes in particular, as a way to see things from different perspectives is fascinating.

Not only does it explain drawing and painting techniques, but it also delves into the emotional side of art how it affects us how we interpret it and how it can change the way we see the world

Thank you for your informative review. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. From sampling it I could also feel her passion for the subject and thought she explained it well what she was talking about. I thought it was interesting the different way she looked at art. I enjoy looking at art I like, but certainly don't understand much about it. I hope many others will enjoy reading this book.
