Chess Strategies for Beginners" by Eric H. Schuelke is a guidebook with various playing strategies in the game of chess. "Chess is often called "the gymnasium of the mind." Regularly engaging with chess, even as a beginner, can help improve cognitive skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, concentration, and memory." I always felt like chess is not my cup of tea so am going to skip this one.

I consider myself a novice chess player and have always been moderately interested in playing it. This book works for me and would also suit a more experienced player. The best of all is that it includes tactics and strategies that I would love to try next time I play chess.

Your appreciation for the clear language and the use of graphical images suggests that the book successfully demystifies complex chess strategies for readers. This is crucial in a game as intricate and nuanced as chess, where visualizing moves and understanding the rationale behind each strategy can significantly enhance one’s playing strength.

Great review! While I cannot say I have any interest in playing chess, I do believe it would be useful to gain better understanding of the game overall. This would definitely be a great learning tool for just that.

I'm not a chess player so reading about tactics and strategies won't be that interesting for me but for the sake of general knowledge finding out more about the history of this game would be great. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Have never been interested in playing chess because it seems so much complicated. From your informative review, I'm sure I'll give it a shot!. I really want to know more about it and the moves involved. I like your acknowledgement of simple language use , many will understand and improve their skills or rather gain skills in playing chess. Thank you
