The book was super insightful but every book should have an area where the author gives a brief biography of his/herself. But anyways good job.

I really don't like spiritual or religious books. But this seems to resemble an autobiography written with the aim to promote spirituality. Even if I don't believe in God, I believe in rebirth. So, I'm not sure whether or not to read it. But most probably I'll give it a try before deciding on it.

Spirituality is important in our lives, hence the need for us to sample various spiritual viewpoints. Thanks for the impressive review.

Spiritual guidance is very important in someone's life. It could give us some insipiration and motivation when achieving certain goals.

I read this book already, and highly recommend it. Richard's story is relatable and inspiring. I loved the part where he teaches himself to read proficiently.

I like spiritual books but not this type. This one might create confusion in somebody regarding the person's religious beliefs.

This is a non-fiction book that guides readers through the path of spirituality and enlightenment. I rarely read books from this genre, but the OnlineBookClub review was masterfully written and sold me on the book.Congrats @RichardLHaight on an amazing BOTD.

Nice review. This book sounds like a good read for people who enjoy self help books focused mainly on spirituality. This being an autobiography, the author’s own journey and experiences sound quite interesting. Congrats to the author on a great review. Thanks so much for sharing.

Not a fan of books on religion and don't usually like reading autobiographies so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. Nice that the book is well written.

Thank you for your detailed review! I liked how you shared positives and negatives about the book. I just read the free sample on Amazon and found it interesting. I loved the story near the beginning about the conversation the author had with his parents, when he was scared they would go to hell if they didn't become "Born Again", and how his parents guided him to think more clearly and independently about spirituality and religious freedom.

Scott wrote: 01 Jun 2018, 14:01 I am posting the following clarification from the author:
Richard L. Haight wrote:Apologies. I don't say I believe in God, although I certainly mention God, but more in the sense that what I had read of God as compared with the experience of the consciousness of All that Is.

I stated that as I child I believed in God, but that was in the context of having that belief destroyed by an experience of the consciousness of All that Is, which I call Isness (for it simply IS).

Isness is not bound by any specific religion or specific form (female/Male), or any particular belief, although it runs through all specific things. What I describe in the book is an experience - not a belief.

My concern is that a misrepresentation about my beliefs could cause people to purchase a book that is not fit for them, which would be an awful shame.
Based on the author's comments above, this book is not for me. However, I appreciate your informative review, and I'm sure it will help readers discern if the book will inspire them.

I find it interesting that the author takes what he views as the best of a variety of religions and combines it in his own life. The idea of doing these things and finding both peace and healing sounds very interesting.

A spiritual self-help guide with many twists and turns about finding harmony sounds interesting e.g. the wild dance. Some of the things mentioned in the review are definitely not meant for me. I would love to read the book to know the basis of the author's spirituality since he said he doesn't believe in God. I hope the author's target audience find the book helpful
