Very good descripted and detailed review .I agree with you as i read the sample .I like the fact that the author describes personal stories in an environment that isnt familiar withn me as i live in a city . As far i read it is like a combination of documentary and personal diary .In addition , i like the humorious friendly and very vivid writing style of the author, it feels like he is your friend . Personally , it doesnt bother me to use jargon like "lol" .Two things only are an issue for me .Firstly i didnt like so much that the author sounds agressive/critical for the people who live in cities that are not capable to survive . From one point of view he is right but everyone is free to choose his way of living I believe in every way of living there are always pro and cons .Secondly i have the feeling that there is a lot of details in some descriptions and may this can be tiring .Finally ,during my reading i was feeling that a bee or alligator will show up ! By the way i am curious to read it all :techie-studyingbrown:

Short stories about life revolving around a swamp area. The difficulties, as well as some memorable incidences of the author's life, described in this book seems intriguing. The most difficult time would be going through Hurricane Harvey. Can't wait to read. Great review.

I like a good short read: helps to secure the interest toward the book, and further increase the number of books read. Thank you for your review!

This book seems to be an autobiographical account of decades of life experiences in swamps. This is certainly different from life in the city. Thanks for the review!

Until reading this review, I had never considered the swamp dwellers as a different culture. It does sound like an adventurous one- with the hurricanes, flooding and critters. Thank you for a great review!

This memoir of life in the swamps of Texas sounds like it is well written. I don't think it would interest me, but I am glad you enjoyed it.

Just the title "Tales from the Riverside" made me want to read the book, and I am glad I did because it has given me a feel of how living around a swamp will be. The several short stories about his different experiences makes the book very interesting. Great review Larry Landgraf

This seems like a really interesting book. I’m from Texas and love anything that has to do with Texas culture. It reminds me of the difference in the future in Louisiana. I’ll put this on my books to read list.

Thanks for your review! Texas and swamp life are both foreign to me so it would be interesting to gain a new perspective by reading the book. Additionally, I appreciate that the author included pictures and refrained from using complicated jargon. Many readers like myself would be overwhelmed without their inclusion.

A book that sheds light on various aspects of life sounds captivating. And the fact that the story contains sense of humor, i'll go for it. Solid review.

This sounds like a unique book from an author with a unique lifestyle. The use of short stories to tell his tale sounds entertaining. I’m curious as to how living in a swamp is. I guess I’ll have to read the book to find out! Great job on the review!
