I was especially pleased that the author narrated over eighty years of her life in sixty-two pages, and I didn't feel like I missed anything.
Sixty-two pages? WOW! I am glad this non-fiction read put a smile on your face; in fact, it sounds a lovely memoir. Plus, it is a well written, easy to read, and well edited. Unfortunately, I am not the target audience, but fans of this genre should check it out! Thank you for the detailed review! :tiphat:

I read the introduction and to be honest, it's a book that everyone needs to read.. It relates the past to the present and also gives insights on what's to come and also How To address it... I can't wait to read this book in full

These childhoods are important to be remembered and it's really sad that kids don't live life like the children from a few decades ago did. However, autobiograhies are not for me.

I love the fact that the author emphasizes the importance of strong family values. These days it seems those values have diminished. I enjoy reading a grandmother's story... Great review!

I enjoyed your review. The book sounds nostalgic by the author reminiscing about her childhood years. I love nonfiction books. Reading about her past experiences not only in childhood but adulthood and then into her retirement years sounds like an account of the 1940's that I won't want to miss reading. Congrats on BOTD!

I love memoirs for one thing, they take you by hand through places you've never been. I commend the author for her sharp memories. Thanks for the review.

Quite an entertaining memoir of the author during the forties in this non fiction book "Dibs and Dabs of my Life" by Gertrude Coulter. The author recounts her life journey, right from the joy and laughter filled activities of her childhood, and all through to her present. The author giving importance to strong family values and decision to walk away from a potentially dangerous situation is quite impressive.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Great summarization of the book. Seems like a light-hearted read. Would love to read about a time when growing up did not involved cell phones, and people had to be creative to find their source of entertainment. Thank you for the review.

Yes, looking back at our own generation and the times that have gone,it's expedient to note that every times comes with its own experience, style ,shape and circumstances and granny,I will fondly call her the author this historical delving book has reshaped her life history into written words that will last in the minds of every one that comes across it forever and sir values learned and earned. This beautiful and amazing historical piece will want to make you just wish you were in their times but the question is will you be able to relate and be what you are now in their time. Its a book that will make you wish history was replayed all over again

Although the sample of Dibs and Dabs of my Life by Gertrude Coulter was short , it seemed like it is going to be an interesting memoir. The book so far is easy to read, it appears to be professionally edited, and it is nice that it has pictures of her family to go along with it. Gertrude grew up about the same time as my parents and their siblings, so this book will be fun to read since I always wished they had written memoirs, too. The sample is good enough to make we want to buy the full version.

Dibs and Dabs of my Life by Gertrude Coulter sounds like a great memoir anyone would wish to read. By reading the book one will realise that there's so much the younger generation can learn from older people who are willing to share their experiences. Great review!

Cute title, but as someone who cannot relate to family values due to abuse, I do not think this is a book for me. But thank you for the review.
