This really doesn't sound like a book for me. And the title really does make me think of that awful and rude CEO. I also dislike repetitiveness in books.

This sounds like a book with good advice on being a strong leader. I don't know I am particularly interested in this one though, but I am sure it would be a good resource for someone in a business atmosphere.

I like how the term "violent leadership" is used positively; I wasn't expecting that. This sounds like it would be an informative book to read, especially in a time where many people are attempting to start their own businesses, myself included. Thanks for the review!

This type of book is not really my cup of tea but I do recognize the value it may bring to entrepreneurs or people who think about starting their own business. I'm glad that I learned the term 'Violent Leadership' which I have never heard before.

The sample really intrigued me but I’m not sure I actually want to read this book. I’ve spent 18 years climbing the corporate ladder of one of the world’s biggest brands, have a master’s in sport/performance psychology and read a darn lot of business/management books. My philosophy has always been one of servant leadership, which seems to be very different from violent leadership. However, the need for disruption and change at my company is critical right now so maybe it would address that need. I also was very interested in reading his thoughts on the NFL and sports.

Thank you for mentioning how the author discusses the millennial generation, but I think that employers and business leaders will have to shift their focus soon, due to the entry of Generation Z into the workforce. I’ve already read some researches on ‘gen zers’, regarding their perceptions, and the findings are quite interesting. Great review, thank you!

The title, Violent Leadership, is a bit shocking. It took me a few seconds to get past the title and focus on the content. After reading the sample and the great review, it appears that Wesley Middleton offers good advice for anyone in or wanting to get in the business world.

The title does provoke a different meaning. I do like that the author draws examples from personal experience, making the book more relatable. The information sounds practical and something one can implement. Really enjoyed the review.

I have always thought that good minds learn from their mistakes while great minds learn from other people's mistakes. I like your description of the book as being "disruptive" as that really caught my attention. I am one that takes leadership from the servant stand point as well, but am eager and willing to read this book to see what it offers in the way of new leadership techniques. Maybe this can work? We are after all, learning to adjust to the new generations coming into the work force. I think your review is superb. Thank you for your precise review!

I found the review interesting but I must add that I don't particularly like the term, violent leadership. I think it conjures up extremely negative connotations. As someone who has studied management and leadership at university, I would be interested to read what is written in this book. I must add that I do not like religion being brought into studies such as this and it immediately gives me a negative perception of the book, even although the reviewer adds that you don't have to be a Christian to enjoy this book. The review was very thorough and interesting nevertheless.

This book with the title Violent Leadership by Wesley Middleton appears to be quite valuable for the employees as well as the management team of a business enterprise because the author himself was a CPA and an entrepreneur, and he shares his success as well as his mistakes for the reader to learn from. I really found very useful analogy of being either a thermostat or a thermometer which can be related to many situations in our lifetime.
