I cannot imagine losing two very important people in your life within a few years. The idea of writing a letter (which turned into this book) to his granddaughter to describe the life of his beloved daughter is amazing in and of itself and something that I'm sure Abigail will treasure forever. The fact that this letter turned into a book shows that his daughter was obviously a special human being that was taken much too soon by cancer.
When it comes to situations such as these, it does tend to make one question their faith. (I know I've questioned mine a few times.)
Although this is not my typical genre, I'm very much looking forward to reading this book.

A heartbreaking story that has a lot of emotions and messages to tell. I’d love to read it even when it feels like it’s filled with grief and sadness.

This is such an emotional story. I like the idea of the letter becoming the rest of the book. It makes it set to be converted into a film.

I like that in the book, despite the sadness, there is also room for humor. I think the change in writing style is interesting, because sometimes the author addresses Abigail directly and other times he does so by addressing a wider audience.

This book sounds touching, from its conception to its presentation. I like the juxtaposition between the brevity of individual lives and the timelessness of the world we live in. It is also nice that royalties from book sales go toward an ovarian cancer research fund. Thanks for the great review!

"Dear Abigail" by Richard Rees. An interesting story book, but sad, Rachael to ovarian cancer when she was in her mid-forties and the loss of his daughter Cary's due to same disease. Congrats on #BOTD.

It's a good sad book. The emotions in the book are just too much for me. Inspirational no doubt how he was able to overcome the death of both his wife and daughter and still be strong for his grandchild, Abigail

This sounds like a very compelling memoir, and I can't even begin to imagine how much pain and loss the author of this book must have experienced. I'd be interested and delighted to read it.

It's a pity that Richard lost his wife and daughter. I'm touched that he wrote to Abigail, his granddaughter to inform her of her maternal lineage. Grief can make one doubt their faith. I hope the author find solace in due time. Ovarian cancer patients and People who are grieving can pick some lessons form this book.

From your review, you said grief is present in the book but there's some level of humor to lighten readers' mood. What I'm here thinking is if the humor present is really enough to lighten the readers' mood? I think I'll pass on this. Your review is well-written. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

This book has such a beautiful premise from a thoughtful grandfather. I think it is so important that legacies and stories are passed down so that they are not forgotten. Congratulations on book of the day!

The book has a sad undertone. There is so much as to the Grief one can bear. I hope God comfort him. It's absolutely sweet that he wrote to his granddaughter, Abigail. Congratulations on BOTD.

From the first page, I found this book very touching. The emotions and feelings you get from reading it are incredible.

There is a certain amount of pain and struggle associated with losing your one and only, as well as your daughter, who is your everything as well, which can be hard to deal with and move on from.

This book should be read by many people if they want to learn and get some useful lessons from it. It is important to be grateful for everything we have in life, even the little things.

The book was really good, so I would read it again. I congratulate the author and wish him the best of luck! You are doing an excellent job!

I already feel the author's grief for such a tragic loss. But writing that this book has humor is surprising and makes this book special. I hope Abigail gets to read this. Thanks for an interesting review.
