Definitely not my cup of tea, mostly because I have no idea who Dan "Axe" Dekruif is and therefore can hardly be interested in reading the book that "provides a detailed description of his life" Sorry, I will have to skip this one, but anyway congrats with BOTD!

Totally agree with the author that our perception of the events can affect the outcome of our lives. Taking accountability of small details will help appreciate every little moment of happiness and a positive view will bring more positive events.

It takes strength for a man to not be fixed on the negative parts of his life. Just like this review stated, the good and bad is just like two sides of a coin. If we stay fixed on the darkest of our lives, we miss out on the wonderful aspects of that same life of ours.

I sampled the "Fear" part of the book, and I found it very atmospheric and insightful. The author's early childhood fears of the Christmas present and the fear when his bed was moved are quite enlightening as many parents may simply find it funny without taking seriously enough the impact it may have on the child in the long term. I liked the review too, and I fully agree that it is a book that deserves a top rating.

It is very difficult to live life looking at even the little positives, but it is better than constantly looking at the negatives. I am certain those who have lived long lives learned this at some point. Thanks for the review!

I agree with what's said here. The quality of your life really depends on how you deal with whatever happens to you.

Dan "Axe" DeKruif has shown exceptional bravery and sincerity in his autobiography, Sunshine Among the Clouds. Sharing his strengths and misses through the various phases of his life should teach a lot of people one or two invaluable lessons and insights, especially the young ones still trying to figure out what life portends for them.

The author's life depicted that life is not a bed of roses. I applaud the author's courage to tell his life story as it is.

I am sure most readers seek relevant informations about lives base on true life story of the author or a story about other person to improve upon one's life. However l for one has picked vital lessons from the novel on how to be focused and live a positive one. Great review.

I think I like the concept of the author telling his story. Sometimes we really do need to be positive in other to live more happily in life. Nice review, contrast on BOTD.

It seems any mistakes or negative experiences you have seem to override the positive in life. The media tends to focus on the controversial too. However, if you really stop and think about it, every day should be positive because you are alive to see it. Nice reveiw.

It’s very interesting that he portrayed his life through a positive and negative view. It’s interesting how your perception of your life can change how you feel about things and how you live your life. Great review! I look forward to reading the book.

A valuable review, clearly underlined
The path of success between light and darkness،
Our life is only as we see it
Nothing comes to us
From outside ourselves, we create our own light and darkness..
This book offers a real experience
We must learn from it how to
Keep our balance and have fun
The details of life
Therein lies happiness..

I am intrigued by the dual perspective provided by the author. I wonder if they succeeded in avoiding repetition, though.

The sample I read only showed the "negative" outlook. It was a bit depressing. I suggest the author show the "positive" outlook as well in the sample.
