This review provides an insightful glimpse into I Have Calluses on My Hands: The Life and Times of Harold Henry. I appreciate how the book delves into the history of the Henry family, tracing their roots back to their great-grandparents and showcasing their journey from Russia and Germany to New York. It’s fascinating that the book includes not only personal achievements and joyful memories but also the struggles and regrets that shaped Harold Henry’s life. The inclusion of old photos and similar objects where originals were unavailable adds a layer of authenticity and connection to the past. The reviewer’s point about enjoying the comparison between old and modern technologies, especially in objects like cars and bathtubs, is intriguing—it's a reminder of how much the world has changed over time. The professional editing and the sincerity of the storytelling seem to make this book a compelling read for those interested in biographies and American history. Thanks for the detailed review; it’s clear this book offers a deep and heartfelt look into one family’s history.

'I Have Calluses on My Hands: The Life and Times of Harold Henry is written in the first-person perspective of Harold Henry, while his son, Neil Henry, edited and augmented it for completeness and easy comprehension for the readers of today.'
Harold Henry must have lived an interesting life.

I love the way this book serves as an account of a person's life and as a kind of family history book. This way, all members of the family would appreciate learning about their ancestry.

"I Have Calluses on My Hands" by Neil Henry narrates the ancestral history of the author. The book reveals the maternal and paternal history of Neil Henry, which indicates Russian and German roots, quite different from the current New York family residence. This book teaches us about the importance of family tree and why we need to know more about our ancestry to discover who we really are.

Thank you for your insightful review on "I Have Calluses on My Hands: (An Old Jew Looks Back)" by Neil Henry. After reading the sample of this book, I believed that the book would meet Neil's passion, fulfilling his want to have a record with which he can look into his early days and recollect some childhood memories which he might not be able to recollect when he's old. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

The greatest stories are the ones from our elders, directly from their perspective. I love that the author had the opportunity to work with his father and write this novel. It isn't one I would normally read but it sounds wonderfully written and well put together.

The book "I Have Calluses on My Hands" seems to be quite engaging. Harold Henry and his son make significant efforts to reconnect with their past and family roots. Sharing personal family anecdotes can be difficult, but their willingness to be open is commendable. I am excited to delve into their experience.

The review analyzed the book well. It's a nice idea to record family history. Things we might forget or lose over time and get lost with the days. Preserving it for future generations or even for ourselves when we are older. I loved the idea of the book. Congrats on BOTD!
