This book is a must-read for anyone whose family members receive help. Despite the existence of some negligent caregivers, there are plenty of genuinely compassionate and devoted ones out there.

Not only a look into a life of someone suffering from Muscle Dystrophy but also at the kind of people that try to aid her with her daily activities.

This is a nice and comprehensive review. I am glad that the reviewer noticed the difference in narration in comparison to other audiobooks. Since I have a hard copy of it I look forward to enjoying it without any interruptions. I have never met someone with MD, but I hope Jeanne's story inspires those in the same condition as her!

The review of 'Helpers Anonymous' is a critical view of the social impunity displayed by those entrusted to patients. Jeanne Tiberio in her non-fiction portrays perseverance exhibited by some patients in the hands of their caregivers. She is described as calm and patient by giving time to her nurses to change but they take time to do so. .

Drug abuse seems a vice that inhibits productivity in jobs performance since Jeanne's caretakers don't care for her in spite of her disability. Narration technique has made the book understandable though monotonous hence not very enthusiastic. With its minimal errors, it is a good read worth 5 stars. :techie-reference:

“Helpers Anonymous” by Jeanne Tiberio is a story about how Tiberio went from a healthy woman at age 27 to suffering from Muscular Dystrophy and her experiences working with Personal Care Attendants for more than 40 years. She shares her personal encounters with the PCAs and how they interacted with her and the treatments they provided. It is sad that she was assigned PCAs that had drug problems and they abused her but I admire Jeanne’s persistence and willingness to give the PCAs an opportunity to change but unfortunately some of them blew this opportunity. The medical program in Massachusetts was paid by Medicaid and Jeanne learned that the GOP administration made changes to the program because they believed some of the PCAs were not paying their taxes. Sad that they punished the people needing assistance by making it harder to find PCAs because of the state crackdown. Why is it the patients suffer when there are administrative red-tape issues? The patients had nothing to do with the taxation of the PCAs, but they were the ones to suffer. This is a very good book with a thorough official review.

A story of Jeanne with her personal care attendants sounds appealing. Observing a person's life stories develop can be enlightening, because one learns about how good people can be but also how limited they can sometimes be.

I like the review of the book" Helpers Anonymous" as it brings more on negativities of drug abuse and the stories of Jeanne and her personal care attendants and how she did not allow anyone to bully or take advantage of her because she was disabled.
