Good review! Although I did not obtain much of the narrative of the book from the sample, your review piqued my interest. I think that I will pick up a copy of this book and read it.

We are allowing ourselves to be consumed again by conspiracy theories, hatred, discrimination, greed, manipulation, and divisive politics. Worse still, our position and relevance in global affairs are being challenged, with the Ukraine/Russia and Israel/Palestine conflicts being ready references. Is anyone worried about these? That we could be living in the shadow of our past glory? That we might find ourselves entangled in the very things our founding fathers, heroes, and heroines fought to liberate us from?
- Why indeed are we living in the shadow of our past glory when we can learn from it, correct the mistakes and move on? Sounds thought provoking and curious. Thank you for such a review.

American Papers: My Love Letters to America" by Jayme Alencar de Oliveira Filho seems to be a book worth reading. The reviewer highlights how the book explains the values, ideals and principals that have made America the great nation it is today and how the current generation has forgotten and abandoned that fact.

The reviewer seems enthusiastic about the book and this shows in the way of expressing its ideas. It is clear that the book is trying to enrich the national aspect within the American society, especially with the increase in racism and political divisions. I don't find myself really interested in the book. I think it will have a greater impact on American readers. Congrats on BOTD

American Papers: My Love Letters to America is a great patriotic read. The review also brings out the necessity and timeliness of this book. But to be honest, America's decline socially, economically, politically, etc. is only inevitable. It's how the world works, generations of determined strugglers bring up a nation, and their descendants bring it down. Kingdoms rise and fall. However, I agree with this book regarding the American spirit, and I believe that every nation should have patriotic books like these that celebrate the values/virtues/principles that made them who they are, lest they forget.

I agree with your statement that there seems to be a decline in American consciousness in this current political climate. It is easy for us to become overly focused on our "first world problems" to the point of forgetting what we love about our country.

I enjoy reading stories about people who come to America with the true American Dream in their heart. Their hope and excitement re-ignite my love and pride in my country. I think I will enjoy reading this book. Thanks!

Although I'm not a US citizen, I find this book so helpful to understand what led the US to where it has been and to see where it might be headed in the near future. The book is uplifting if you're a US citizen, but it can teach us all around the world important lessons for our own nations.

This timely book aims to restore America to its rightful glory by revamping the value system and ideals, further building up the American spirit, and repositioning America to take its rightful place among Nations. I would love such a book of impact.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting book about what the author attempts to explain as the "American consciousness" and what has changed over the past few years. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
