Nice review! You stated what you liked, and you were very detailed in your description of what you did not like. I was thinking of reading this book from the title, but the problems with the subject delivery turned me off.

Thank you for this comprehensive review. I am a psychiatric nurse, and I think the terminology used here will favor me. I look forward to benefiting from the wisdom in this book.

Elliott B. Martin, Jr. explores the mental health problems that stem from living in a digital age in his book Reconceptualising Mental Illness in the Digital Age. Despite being a significant subject, the impact may be enhanced with a more interesting and perceptive revision.

Thank you for your informational review. Between the excellent research and editing, one can tell a lot of work went into this book. Sadly, it seems as if only the professionals may be able to follow what is said, rather than the average person who may need it even more. I appreciate your honesty. I'm not looking for a textbook at this time but the subject is very important.

Thank you for your in-depth review on "Reconceptualizing Mental Illness in the Digital Age" by Elliott B. Martin, Jr. What makes the book well-informed is the interrelationship between the topics analyzed in a psychiatric and an ancient languages background into a polyhistoric approach with broad scope. People who are not familiar with psychiatric terminology or philosophic terms may have a hard time maintaining attention. The paragraph's structure feels disjointed from time to time, interposed with long digressions that break the flow of the narrative, hindering the overall readability. For this reason, I've decided not to read this book at this time. Still, congratulations to the author for BOTD.

Thank you for your review. I agree it would probably not be a book for leisure reading. I read the 30-page sample. The author gave some heavily resourced history of how people with problems were treated. He also addressed the COVID-19 insolation and the mental damage that has been done. In my opinion, social media, has its good points, like bringing people together: families, friends, and people with similar interests. :tiphat:

Elliott B. Martin, Jr. examines how our understanding of mental health is changing with the rise of digital technology. It looks at historical views, the emergence of digital disorders, and the fine line between normal and pathological behaviors in the digital era.

It's too bad this is a complicated read because the topic is crucial and affects all of us. During the pandemic and with some platforms' internal research, we have enough proof of the harmful effects of social media. We need to discuss digital wellbeing beyond temporary so-called digital detoxes. Thank you for your review.

a relevant and very well-researched book. And I agree this book is a bit difficult to read because of the complex wording. It appears to be written for professionals. Great review!

I'm very interested in reading this book because of all the mental health concerns that people seem to be experiencing these days. However, understanding the terminology that is being used in the book may be huge challenge for people that doesn't have a medical background .

I believe that the book's strong point emphasizes the fact that mental health issues actually exist in our present age and helps address and throw more light on this. I believe that this is worth reading and is certainly a great recommendation. Congratulations on Botd.

This timely book could catalyze more research on the connection between technology and mental illness. Such knowledge can only empower. Thank you for your insightful and honest review. A glossary could be added to explain complex vocabulary.
