It is always nice to see stereotypes being broken and people rising above their circumstances. This seems like a positive story that would inspire a lot of people. I would also be interested to see how he managed his money to get where he is today.

Sounds like a very inspiring book. It takes a lot of will power and hard work to turn around a difficult situation in life, but it isn't impossible. Thank you for your review.

Totally not my type of thing even if I was in habit to read non-fiction. So sorry, I will have to pass this one.

Being a motivational memoir I did not expect something so different from the rest. I like the fact that this author chose not to be the norm. Reminds readers that when you fall down, you have no other option than get back and be better. This is a book one will reading and is written simply for all to understand.

I like how it a self help book to guide people to be successful. You don’t have to be book smart with good grades. It’s follows the authors story of how he went from a poor trailer park kid to an adult that has his own veterinary practices and is making millions. I like how the author shows the struggle it took to become a success.

I am not normally a great fan of these motivational books as there seems to be a flood of them on the market, however, this review is written in a style which seems to spark enthusiasm for this particular book. The book sounds very inspirational and motivating from a review which also appears to be the same!

I'm glad the author refused to be the victim of his surroundings and instead of selling drugs with his friends he chose a different path and gained success. I also like the title of the book "Bet on yourself". It is true that if you want to get something, you should do everything yourself and not expect that someone else will do it for you. The book seems to be an interesting motivational book that might help a lot of people with their choices in life. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Thanks for your review! I appreciate that the author hopes to serve as a male role model for minority children. I agree that schools don't focus on teaching students how to manage money. As a result, they often end up in sticky financial situations. I feel inspired by the author because I also hope to attend veterinary school and receive my veterinary license.

It's amazing how most world renown people always had to face painful childhoods. The huge difference between them and others is that they used the hardships they faced as stepping stones in their future endeavours. It seems the author of this book too had reached success passing through such hardships. Even if I'm not sure that you can learn about real estate and managing finances just by reading a book, I'd still like to read it for the motivation it provides.

What an interesting business memoir. That definitely would be helpful for those interested in real estate and managing finances, too. Nice review.

I think this can be a good book not just for African-Americans to read to have a successful business but for anybody who wants to put their foot in the door. I would check it out.
