A beautiful start, but a sad ending. Sadie could haver done better by making the best out of life. A great lesson indeed for those thinking along this line, there are always better alternatives to suicide. Would love to read the book. Beautiful piece.

I don't like it that the spirited Sadie has to end in death. So saddening.

There are certain matters which are more difficult yet still a must for consideration, indeed. I admire your empathy, compassion, and open-mindedness in dealing with the book's sensitive theme. Such glimmer of light from people with a good heart, among others, is what could also make a difference especially for those dealing with illnesses, uncertainties, dilemmas and other toils in life.

I particularly love this one because it relates to the younger generation. It engrosses the life and transformation from childhood to adulthood. The glitches and the changes that come with these changes. this work shows the part parents have to play in this period. it also educates that the work isn't for one parent alone but both of them. This work is particularly good for parents and want-to-be.

Wow, beautiful review. I appreciate books that are not afraid to be honest, even if it makes the reader uncomfortable at times. I am really interested in this book now. Mental illness runs through my family and I have struggled with depression myself, and I really believe that the health care options surrounding mental health desperately need reform.

This sounds like a powerful heartfelt book. I agree that people do not understand mental illenesses and to ignore it exist is dangerous. My oldest daughter would love this book because she will soon receive her Masters in Mental Health. This book sounds sad, but informative, and a great read. Thank you for this review.

This book sounds truly tragic. It must have been difficult to get through. But it sounds very good and like you’d be interested to keep reading.

It is an important topic which is becoming more prevalent in today’s world. It’s something that should be discussed more openly.

Wonderful review.

There are so many factors even in just this review that could contribute to Sadie's suicide. Being adopted is a huge factor right there. Did mental illness run in the birth family? Just being adopted can trigger depression, though. Many adopted kids struggle with questions about why they were adopted. Did my birth parents not want me? Am I worthless because they couldn’t or wouldn’t change their life to include me? Without the right support, this can spiral out of control for the kid all too easily.
