I like your review and I was also unaware of how deep the subject of quoting is. I think that the issues with some of the higher level words is common in textbooks and other academic publications. I do think that authors should make their works easier to read so that other students can understand them. I agree with your rating because of the omissions and grammatical errors.

Thanks for your review. This sounds like an interesting book. I have wondered about quotes and how they get passed along generation after generation. It's hard to know whether a quotation is authentic or not. Maybe this book can shed some light on that question for me.

Books of this genre should have a simple and easy language to be read properly and take full advantage of it. However, the author may have written the book to a specific audience such as professors, editors, or writers. Nonetheless, it's a shame average readers will not be able to fully capture the depth of the book because of the language used.

Thanks for your review. I must confess that when I first saw the tittle, I was intrigued, because I've never thought that "quotation" could be the basis for such an extensive research. It's an interesting and important subject, for sure. However, I think it isn't a casual reading, but more a technical one. Definitely, it's for a certain audience and not the subject that I'm looking for right now.

The novel could help people to learn more about English language because there are themes in it which would make you develop more interest in English.

Thanks for the review. I'm all about quotes. There's a quote for everything. That said, not sure I'm willing to pay $10 on amazon for a book about quotes.

A book about quotation sounds like an English language textbook to me. Although I applaud the idea of informing people on different pieces of stuff especially one that is or might be overlooked, I do not think quotation is one I want to spend on and, read a whole book about. Nice job though. Great review

Definitely a book well written with extensive research. But I am not into educational books so, I will pass by this one. Good and descriptive review. Congratulations on being BOTD

Nice review. Quotes somehow transcend through time. It depends how a person use it. I might give this book a try reading it.

This book sounds like a good one for a college student. This is not a casual read. I like quotes, I just don't think I want to read a technical book about them.

This book brings up a subject that I have never thought about, why do we quote? The author lays out cultural tradition and history behind quotations. This book sounds like it is very well researched! Congrats on book of the day! Great review!

I have only sampled the book but so far I give it a 2/4. It is a topic I am interested in but the book is in a textbook style and is harder to read for people who just enjoy the topic and aren’t academics or aren’t looking to study. I will however keep reading the book to see how the author builds it up and see if my review changes. I really enjoyed your review!

I found this book kind of hard to read because of how it was formatted and it seemed to jump pretty quickly to the next thing. I did find it an interesting point on how many things are quotes without us really thinking about it though; not just in stories but on building/street signs and the things we say.

College and university students doing academic studies or research projects will appreciate this book. Literary persons on a whole should also be appreciative of this author's work. Thank you for an insightful review.

What an interesting concept! I also never thought the act of quoting was a big subject. I like how the author dives into the history and reasons why people use quotes. Also, it's great to know the book is well-researched and well-cited by famous philosophers. However, I can definitely see the use of complex vocabulary can limit the amount of people being able to read the text. Also, it's too bad about the amount of errors presented here. Not sure if this is for me as I don't tend to enjoy textbook-style books, but I'm glad you found this beneficial. Thank you for sharing!
