I enjoy biographies, and I tend to appreciate books of this nature as someone who lives with complex PTSD (among other psychological issues) myself. Your review was well-written and helpful. I appreciated your thought that reading a book of this nature can be draining. This is very true. Those of us who have high empathy will find ourselves feeling angry and helpless at times when reading such an account.

The author shares about her many problems and difficulties she has had throughout her life. I like that through forgiveness and unconditional love, among other things, have helped her regain equilibrium. The interactions between body, mind, and soul with science, psychology, and spirituality should be interesting to read.

I hope this book of healing can help those struggling. For me, I have grown weary of this type of self help book.

Thanks for the great review! It is clear the author had much to deal with and overcome. I don't believe in mediums but I would still like to read this book because I know people personally who suffer from depression, PTSD, and addiction. Not to mention the loss of her husband! Each of these situations on their own is devastating, not to mention dealing with all of them! Hopefully, it won't be too emotionally draining!

I like that the author highlights her struggles with post traumatic stress disorders, sexual abuse as a child, loss of a loved one, and substance abuse and addiction. These is information that can be of help to other readers. Thanks for the review.

She has a unique perspective to give on life. I commend her for having the courage to share. Most think PTSD is for soldiers only. They might think that they miles away from experiencing such problems, but the true is we are all just a severely traumatic experience a way from suffering from it ourselves. Looks like a worthy read to me.

Does not seem like my usual type of read. It is too serious for what I think is enjoyable to read.

I feel for the author; experiencing that much trauma, working through it, and coming out from it stronger is admirable. I hope this book helps others who might be going through similar trauma(s). Thanks for the candid review!

It was very interesting to read your perspective as a counselor, and I think it would be enriching to hear what survivors and people with PTSD experience with this book. I think the problem is not only the length of the book per se but the disorganization that seems to prevail but, overall; I think it can be a very helpful read.
Thank you!

One can always get learning and realizations from memoirs and it seemed a lot of these can be had from this novel. Congrats to the author for bravely sharing her challenges. Happy reading to all of us!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting book about the author's life, suffering and her journey to healing. It seems like it would be worth a second look. Well done.

Thank you for your thorough, engaging review. I appreciate that you warned readers about how draining this book can be (emotionally). Knowing that now, I will hold off on reading it for another day. Congrats on getting featured! :D

There is something to be said about individuals who bear their souls in the form of healing through creative expression. From the review it sounds like this was the author's way of healing, by documenting and exposing her pain. It's not an easy feat! Coming from someone who is interested in sharing my own tale of my life's journey through text, I'm encouraged that intimate books like this have potential audiences.

A memoir about the author's recovery from PTSD, abuse, and loss sounds deep. I appreciate the way the author has used his personal struggle to give hope to those going through difficult times.
