This is the story of a woman who went through so much but still found the strength to rise. I'm particularly interested in the episode where she runs away with the circus.

This sounds like a good book! I like how she hustled from an early age and became so successful!

It seems like an interesting book. When an author fight survives many obstacles in life and decides to put it I writing, it's always gonna be an interesting book. Lina is an inspiration to be emulated. Great review.

An amazing story. Not many people overcome abuse and make such a comeback in life to be that exceptional. She was blessed to hear that calming but powerful voice on the operating table.

Thanks for the great review. I'll be adding this to list of things to read. I'm intrigued as to why she chose "The Sugar Queen" as the title.

The author seems to have gone through a lot during her childhood. I'm glad she built her empire at a tender age. Thanks for the review

I am intrigued by your review. Joined a circus at the age of 14??? It sounds like a very encouraging book. Thanks for your review.

Her story reminds us that it is never too late and not always easy.

The book sounds interesting and the author seems to have had quite a life full of events which she managed to use to her benefit. But memoirs are not my cup of tea, still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I love to read about good people who have overcome seemingly insurmountable adversity to live highly successful lives. I would definitely buy this book and recommend it to everyone I know. I love a good success story. I was hooked after chapter 1. I couldn’t stop reading it. Lina is quite the storyteller!

Now I’m SUPER glad I’ve added it to my shelf! My plan was to start reading tomorrow. Now I’m shuffling things around on my “To Do” list so I can start today. Ha ha! Really appreciate your review. :)

And I thought the one word to describe the book was "sweet." From victim to victor, Lina exhibits the strength of the human spirit. I am sure many will be inspired by her life.

A memory of the author Lina Kennedy that highlights her sufferings by being abused by her father and having to struggle to succeed in life. It also remarks about the loving relationship with his son. A book that looks very attractive.

I'm really curious about Lina's gift. What she went through in the hands of her father was terrible and no child deserves such abuse. I wonder why some people go-ahead to become parents when they're really incapable. So glad she was able to pull through; her adversity quotient must be sky high! Thanks for the review.

This review really makes me anticipate actually reading the book! I look forward to finding it. I especially enjoy books that include photos to pull the reader further into the story so I am happy to see this book includes those!
