In these times of great struggles, we can all do with a story of resilience, hope and triumph. I love that the author includes photos to enhance the readers immersion in his tale. Thanks for the thorough review!

Book 3 is a continuation of learning what Navy life is like along with in-depth descriptions and pictures of locations around the world. For anyone interested in this memoir, this book is one to explore. Great review!

When Life Doesn't Turn Out the Way We Hoped It Would Volume 3 ~ is a continuation of 1 and 2. It continues to tell of Tom Wick's life of the United States of America Navy. He tells of his father-son relationship.

Best suited for mature readers of memoirs.

Well! Who would have thought the author's adventures would flow into yet another volume. It couldn't have been easy to let his vulnerabilities out there in the open world, so I applaud his courage. It's a pity certain parts were redundant due to repetition, though. Perhaps, they can be adjusted. Thanks for the review.

I believe it is the first time that I see three parts from one series being awarded the title BOTD in such short succession. Unfortunately, even high praises in reviews weren't able to change my initial reaction to it. I am still quite frightened by the picture on the cover and have no desire to read non-fiction autobiography about less than happy life. Apologies, I will have to pass this one, but congrats on BOTD!

"When Life Doesn't Turn Out the Way We Hoped It Would Volume 3" by Tom Wick - another part to Tom Wick's memoirs. The most interesting part that I read was the Crossing the dateline ceremony when a Pollywog (the first experience of a sailor crossing the dateline, is put through a hazing as the line is crossed and becomes a wog (a sailor who has been through the initiation for crossing the dateline. A fascinating detail, there is more than one way to cross the dateline, at the equator or a meridian and thus different ceremonies and different awards, like Gold, Green, etc. There is much more to Tom Wick's autobiography, but the description of the ceremony is typical of his writing style and entertaining. The review was masterful. Thanks.

Wow...what an awesome review. Tom wick's life must've been really full of adventures for such lengthy series. Though full of editorial errors at least he has an amazing way of expressing himself.

This book is seemingly about the author's sea voyage. It doesn't appear much different from its prequel.

I wasn't interested in the first two installments of this book, so I doubt this one will be different. Nonetheless, I admire the author's courage in writing this book. Thank you for this informing review.

It sounds like this book serves as a great reminder that your present circumstances can be great, but if you're mental health is poor, it makes no difference. While Wick was at sea and adventuring, he was also dealing with past traumatic experiences. Unfortunately, like its predecessors, this book doesn't appeal to me, but thank you for the review.

Insightful review here. Tom's tour was adventurous. This memoir from part 1 to 3 sounds quite interesting. I'll be glad to read them in due time.
