Thank you for your informational review. I thought the book was interesting, though I don't have a use for it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I also noticed several errors though it didn't distract me. It did seem that he explained things simply. I hope those who might be going into this area of work, or business, find it very useful.

This is the perfect description of when a door closes and a bigger and better one opens up. I love the author's perseverance in times of trouble. "Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete and Marble Polishing and Many Other Specialty Skills" is truly a motivational story, and I greatly recommend it.

Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete & Marble Polishing, And Many Other Specialty Skills" by Giuseppe Fanone is an insightful experiential guide, majorly for people who would be interested in starting a stone and marble restoration business than for the do-it-yourself handyperson. If the written English is not a significant challenge to reading and understanding the texts, I'm all for looking into this book.
While I am not allergic to latex gloves or anything latex, personally recommending nitrile gloves rather than latex seems erroneous also because there may be folks who could be allergic to such, too.

Thank you for the review. This is a great book for people who are looking for a business of their own. There is a need for this restoration of countertops and floors in residential and commercial buildings. The author gave excellent instructions and advice. Not many books like this in this day and age.

It's commendable when people who worked for years to acquire and hone a skill are prepared to share their learning with others. When work is scarce the best solution is to start your own business and stone and marble restoration skills are not very common. Thank you for your informative review.

I’m not sure this book is for me. I think it has a narrow readership. I agree, perhaps a second edition is needed with the errors fixed.

“Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete & Marble Polishing, and Many other Specialty Skills” by Giuseppe Fanone is a detailed restoration guide. Giuseppe joined his family’s ceramic tile installation business in 1979 after being laid off from one of the car manufacturers in Michigan. Giuseppe developed the skills to install marble and granite floors & walls for a 27 years career and then specialized in stone and concrete restoration and polishing. An amazing career that clearly showed how much he cared about this art and loved his finished work. Specialists like Giuseppe are probably a rarity today since I see TV ads for bathroom renovations that can be completed in one day, so the love and care of a skilled ceramic, marble and granite installer is probably only required for custom jobs. It is so evident from reading this book that Giuseppe really loved his trade. Every reader can learn from this book but it is really written for people that want to start their own stone and marble restoration business, not the do-it-yourself handyman. The official reviewer rated the book 3 out of 4-stars for lack of professional editing and made recommendations for a second edition.

This sounds interesting and a good book to have. I like the fact that the author covers all basis with respect to, what use, what mistakes not to make etc. It's not often that people are willing to share their skills with other people, let alone the world. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

Great review! I appreciate the detailed feedback on the author’s expertise and the honesty about the book’s editing flaws. The suggestion regarding latex gloves for allergy sufferers is a helpful touch, too!
