I enjoy reading memoirs. It helps me learn from the experience of others while also understand why some people act the way they do in present times. I am especially intrigued by the author's use of voice that changes throughout the narrative as pointed out by the reviewer. I will read the book.

Abuse is a susceptible topic that not many people dare to confront. Only those who heal or are on a healing journey can face it head-on. Congratulations to the author on an excellent not book.

From a sampling, this seems like a very heartfelt memoir of the author's life from childhood to adulthood and includes the trials and challenges she faced. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

The memoir appears to call attention to a sensitive topic, but it is handled delicately in order to reach a larger audience. It empowers people who went through a similar experience and promotes awareness.

I usually dont like to read books about any form of abuse on kids but I do feel like books like these help others understand the perspectives of the victims and how it is important to be aware of how it affects their lives.

This memoir is indeed very touching, and seeing that the author went through all these while she was just a child makes it even more sad. The author's story shows resistance and this is truly very inspiring. Congratulations on BOTD.

Thank you for your great review. I'm glad you liked it. Too bad that at least the editing in the Kindle edition wasn't the greatest. I also enjoyed the author's style of writing for the different ages. This might be a difficult book for me to read, but due to her bravery in writing it, I have added it to my list of books to read.

The topic is very sensitive and I commend author Christina Vitagliano for sharing her traumatic and harrowing experience in the hands of her stepfather. I’m looking forward digging into this book to know how she faced this and succeeded to become the person that she is today.
