This is the first time I'm hearing about this program, so it would be great to see it through the author's eyes. I'm also curious to find out how things ended with the Thai girl.

"Nakhon Phanom" by James I. Jouppi. An interesting book mainly for young adults to read, entertaining and educating. Talks about the Peace Corps Program and the automatic language growth. Congrats on #BOTD.

An informative book about the author’s honorable service to humanity. I hope his love worked out for him though, cause why can’t she follow him home? I don’t see why not.

A memoir that’s both educating and entertaining sounds interesting. The story in this one feels unique.

Nakhon Phanom: The Domino That Did Not Fall seems like a compelling memoir, suitable for anyone interested in getting an insight into what it’s like to be in a Peace Corp Program as volunteers in a place like Thailand. Great review.

How did his story in Thailand end? I would like to know if his love interest lasted and how it impacted his peace corps work.

The Peace Corps probably deserves more praise and notoriety than it has amassed over the years. I've known Peace Corps volunteers, and they are very special people. Congrats to the author for getting the word out about this terrific program and for achieving BOTD!

This book is for those who enjoy memoirs as this book contains the two important elements of a good memoir: educational and entertaining. The author does a commendable job at describing his life experiences and making it relatable to the audience. Congrats on the BOTD!

It seems like the author has many interesting things to share. I, personally, know nothing about the Peace Corps, but would like to know more. I love that people are able to share their unique life stories through memoirs such as this one, it's just a shame about the editing.

Thailand is one of the few countries I've visited. I would be happy to know more about it. I'm not too keen on romances, but this love story seems interesting.

Love can be a strong force that makes one take such big decisions to change plans. I just hope his love was worth waiting for and enduring his struggles. Great review.

Really not my cup of tea as it is, but also way too complicated and serious to find the book appealing at the time when I am on a search to read something for some easy entertainment. Congratulation with BOTD, anyway!

As an Australian, the Peace Corps is totally foreign to me and has always been tucked into my mind with the French Foreign Legion another force I have heard of but know absolutely nothing about. After reading a sample of the book I found I like the authors writing style and after reading the review and seeing the areas the book covers I think it may find it’s way to my “want to read” book shelf.

Pretty decent book and content....I agree with the reviewer about too many grammatical errors (even in the sample). May check out the full book later....I have a friend who was in the peace corps and will converse with them about the book when next I see them.

I love how this memoir teachers me so much about Thai history. The romantic part is really intriguing too. Congratulations on book of the day!
