The freeness with which the author portrays his life is endearing.

Thank you for the great review.

This is a memoir of a young man who talks about his life in school and playing the clarinet in the school orchestra. Congratulations BOTD!

This is a personal biography told excellently with added humour. James H Morgan wrote about his life as a young man, from a very practical young high school boy, when his parents moved from Upland to Claremont, to his love for playing music, especially the clarinet. He's plainly shared his stuff which many would consider embarassing. An interesting book and a good book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

Although I typically do not enjoy memoirs, your description of the book piques my interest. The 60s was a huge turning point in history and it would be interesting to read about it from someone who lived it. It sounds like James’s mother has the right idea on treating everyone with kindness! I don’t agree that we should all be “colorblind,” but rather just more accepting. Being colorblind leads to ignoring a person’s culture. Overall, your review was very helpful and I may just check this book out myself. Thank you!

Discrimination is an expensive product of hatred, racism is superiority complexity derived from hatred, I love James's mother for being colour blind and I could recommend the book for people with biographies lovers.

James lived a full life and he gets to take readers on that journey. I like autobiographies because they are raw lives of the authors and always inspirational. Congrats on the book of the day

I love the humour part where he is called in the office because he scored C in Biology.

It reminds me of those days I was in school.

The book should be thrilling.

I simply loved the sample! The dialogues are natural, the characters remarkable, and the scenes vivid. For instance, the discussion James and his friend Debbie started during religion class about the woman having to obey the man. Had it not been for the review, I wouldn't have known it was an autobiographical book and not a good novel.Congrats on the review!

James H Morgan seems to tell the story of his life since he was a boy, but it also talks about his love for music, especially his love for playing the clarinet, but it also contains some historical aspects too. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

With the ever changing world, memoirs offer a look into times in history through the eyes of the aurhor making them unique in their own way.

I don't care much for memoirs, so I'll be skipping this one. However, it seems that there is a lot the author has to share about his life, so I applaud him for his achievement. Congrats on BOTD.

I am not a fan of memoirs, but the author seems likable, and I enjoy the aspects of his life he has chosen to share. I love the fact that he is not afraid to share "embarrassing" things.

What I find special about this book is the purity and honesty the author shares his life stories especially how the author shares that he was considered the 'runt'. This book is recommended to readers who enjoy biographies. There are so many points to make that are positive about this book that makes it a must read for me personally. Congrats on the BOTD!
