The author uses his life as a guide to explain the acceptance of one’s shortcomings; this is displayed in the statement he makes during his arraignment in court and also when he admitted to the highway patrol officer, Hugh, that he smuggled drugs he shouldn't have. Steve also explains that for every wrongdoing one does, there's a repercussion by accepting his sentencing. Even though Morgan had pressured him into submission, he still felt he was not right and deserved to serve punishment for his offense because he could have walked away; instead, he stayed.
- There is no greater action than accepting punishment for one's wrongdoings- If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime. Would love to honor the author by reading the book. Great review. Thank you.

Although the author knew that smuggling drugs was wrong, he did so anyway; however, he did so without question when he had to face the consequences of his actions. I am curious to know more about the author and his life. Thanks for the review!

A well-written and thoughtful review from Lucy Vera, thank you. Stephen Lee Arrington in his autobiography,'In DeLorean's Shadow' talks about his life as a motivational speaker and what led to him taking this role. The unfortunate liaison with Morgan who requests of Steve that he co- pilot his plane to run drugs out of Colombia is the start of Steve's downward spiral which results in his incarceration. We are apprised of Steve's childhood, love life and everything else in between, culminating in his salvtion when he finds his faith in God, whilst incarcerated. Congratulatons on #BOTD

I barely remember the case of this book, "In DeLorean's Shadow" by Stephen Lee Arrington but I do remember the people involved. I have put it on my "to read" list because it sounds like an interesting read of temptation and guilt to redemption and leadership. Steve took responsibility for his actions even though he was pressured into going along with Morgan and then accepted his sentencing for those actions and finding support in his belief in God. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

I love these types of historical documentaries. I am going to consider this as a prequel to the Narcos series, which is on Netflix. The events of these books lead to Pablo Escobar and other drug lords being killed and/or kidnapped. I would love to pick this book up next time I want a historical story.

As a Christian, this is a beautiful book that demonstrates the power God has to transform one's life when one decides to take the first step to radically change and leave the old life behind.

It's good that Steve wanted to back out of this smuggling business and sadly Morgan didn't keep to his part of the bargain. This would be an interesting book and congrats on BOTD.

I usually love memoirs and autobiographies, but the review didn't seem to show that this book is interesting. I figured the author must've lived an interesting life to write an autobiography, but it just doesn't seem like that to me.

Unfortunately, the book is not my cup of tea, mostly because I never liked to read autobiographies as a rule, but in this particular case I also don't consider drug smuggling as a simple mistake, easy to overlook consequences of such an action. Sorry and congrats with BOTD, anyway!
