"Digging for God" by Tom Hillman is written by a middle-aged gray-haired writer that went back to college to learn how to write a meaningful and publishable book. The professor linked him up with a professional writer that would help guide Tom Hillman from start to finish on his book. The sample was very brief but gave enough information to show that Tom was blessed to receive the assistance he received and as a result he wrote an amazing book. Tom began his book by transporting readers to an all-men three-week retreat in an ashram, a place described to be like a gold rush town but it was focused on every man for himself digging for God. Attendees also benefitted from the otherworldly brotherly love that was very real in this ashram. Tom displayed excellent writing skills that included humor that made his narration fun to read and visualize. Experiencing an ashram will cause attendees to let go of resentments and negative thoughts. Readers will feel like they are in the ashram with Tom and when completed have a new outlook on life. This is not a religious book but focuses on the benefits of meditation and communal life. I highly recommend this book because it will inspire readers and cause them to dwell on the thought-provoking messages. I am adding this book to my to-read shelf.

Unfortunately, I can't call myself a person who express much interest in spiritual journeys or discovery of some deity. I am not without beliefs, but to me it has more to do with inner feeling of each individual and not you can find in any kind of book. No offense was meant and I gladly offer my congratulations on BOTD!

The review assumes that the book isn't about a specific religion, but about the process of meditation and spiritual peace. But the word Ashram itself is taken from Indian religions. So I don't think the book is suitable for me, I'll skip. Congrats on BOTD

I've come across the word "Ashram" before. Whatever made the author go to an Ashram must be deeply spiritual. I believe this book tells the experience he had in the Ashram.

The author's aim of helping the readers to know God for themselves and not neglecting love for one another, makes this book more interesting to read and acquiring more knowledge from God by reading it.

The author’s vivid descriptions of life in the ashram made it easy to visualize the retreat, almost as if I were there myself. His ability to capture the essence of brotherhood and self-reflection in such a setting is truly commendable.

The title for the book "Digging for God", best reveals the journey of a Christian, and how to see and know God for yourself.

It sounds like the author did well in his description of the time he spent in the ashram. The humor, the second-person point of view, and the book's short nature should make this a fun read. Thanks for the review!

The second-person narration sounds like a brilliant touch—it’s rare for a book to make you feel like you’re the one on the journey.

This book sounds like a must-read for anyone seeking inner peace or just a well-written, thought-provoking escape. Thanks for the insightful review!
