I am intrigued by Avram Friedman's book, "The Truth About Plumbing". I love the humour added to the educational information. The plumbing system in my country leaves much to be desired. Some communities lack potable water, which is unsatisfactory. The author's unique perspective needs to reach a broad audience. I appreciate your informative review.

It is not a technical manual nor will it make you a plumber overnight, but it will leave you with more knowledge so that the next time there is a leak, you will not panic or make strange assumptions.

While I never would have chosen a book about plumbing this one sounds interesting. I appreciate the humor used in discussing the difficulties of long term water containment and Murphy’s law as applied to plumbing.

Who would have thought humor and plumbing can go hand in hand? This goes to show the creativity of the author to teach about plumbing in a light hearted way.

This book is very curious indeed. From the title I didn't really think it would actually be about plumbing, I thought that the title would be used in a metaphorical sense. Instead the book actually seems to be about plumbing. I do wonder how spiritualism is going to fit in. The review has made me very curious about this book, perhaps I will actually give it a shot.

"The Truth About Plumbing" by Avram Friedman reviews the disadvantages of modern plumbing. Friedman begins the book with the science of plumbing and he makes it very understandable. The remainder of the book covers the physical features of plumbing. He also describes the hazards of plumbing and how plumbing systems are installed and the materials used for the system. Friedman then discusses the plumbing installations around the house including toilets, kitchens, showers, bathtubs and other items in a bathroom. He finalizes his book describing what education is needed, the challenges on the job and the experience required before taking on major jobs. Most people only have a basic understanding of plumbing and many think the job cannot be that hard and plumbers are overpaid. An excellent plumber earns their pay and many of the jobs they do are repairs that can be very messy as opposed to installing plumbing in a new home. Friedman’s use of humor makes some topics easier to understand and the education provided is excellent. This book is one that can really come in handy, even if it only shows how hard a plumbing job can be. The science behind the process of water flowing through a home is amazing. Water pressure, freezing and then bursting pipes, pipe connectors that expand and contract, all bound to fail at sometime unexpected. Plumbers should receive respect for what they do.
