Told with strength and courage, today's BOTD is a memoir set in Brazil in which the author shares her experiences of corruption and injustice. Even though her story is different than what I've experienced, I feel there is always something to learn when listening to others. I'm really looking forward to reading this. Thank you so much for the helpful review! :-)

I like the strong premise of this book; surely it seems like a difficult situation. But at the same time it picks up my curiosity and I want to read the author´s experiences. Good review!

I don't particularly care for memoirs, so I won't be reading this book. However, it's extremely well-written and moves at a good pace. This is a harrowing tale and I admire the author for putting her story down in print.

I would feel the pain she went through and how she survived it is the only thing l want know. However the story is indeed full of life lessons. Great review.

From the review, it sounds like this book is a very emotional and tumultuous journey of the author. I am anxious to read this book and find out what happened in the author's and her husband's lives. Great review!

Although some people were against it, I'm glad the author was brave enough to come out and narrate the injustices perpetrated to her. This sounds like a really sad yet empowering memoir.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Karen really was a brave lady to go through what she went through and still found the courage to make good decisions for herself. I cannot imagine the pains of being hurt by family that is meant to be a safe haven.

This sounds like a very poignant and moving story. As someone who went through a few too many very difficult situations throughout my lifetime, I don’t know how well I could handle the “gruesome descriptions,” depending on what they involve. It sounds like the author had a lot of courage to share her story!

The Parrot's Perch is a powerful memoir that showcases the author's strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Karen Keilt's vivid storytelling and courageous narrative had me captivated from start to finish. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Amazing story.
It’s a horrific scene to behold when the same government authorities who are supposed to be protecting us are the same ones we need protection from.
The author is a strong woman.

I admire the author's strength and courage in sharing her story with the world in such vivid details, especially her time in jail. It was exciting to know how she managed to overcome the terrifiying encounters with injustice and corruption in Brazil. Seems like a remarkable book. Thank you for an amazing review.
