So many young men join the military thinking it will be glamorous and they will become heroes. I appreciate a book that reveals the reality of being in the military. Thank you for your informative review.

I'm not sure I'd enjoy reading a book about the military life and its struggles, but what actually caught my attention was learning about the consequences on the military after a war--the traumas and challenges usually take a toll on their lives.

The book seems interesting and the review is very well written but I don't think it is for me. The effect of war and violence in the army, the stress the soldiers experience during their time in the military and afterwards which often results in suicides is not something I would freely choose for reading. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Darryl Jefferson's book Army Life is a genuine story of his time spent in the Army. He had a childhood fantasy of being sent to fight in a war and was always fixated on enlisting in the Army. Motivated by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he completed an ROTC course before deciding to join the Army.

It's commendable that the author shared the highs and lows of serving in the military, especially the physical and mental toll it takes on the soldiers. This book seems like it may be too gritty for me, so I'll pass on it.

Thorough and honest review. The book is a true account of war in Afganistan, with its terrible consequences.

Real life in the Army is relatively unknown to most people and it’s really good that Mr. Jefferson could explain some of that. Congratulations on BOTD!

I typically don't read memoirs, but this one seems a bit intriguing. I never had the opportunity to serve, but admire those who choose service as a profession. Perhaps I'll give this one a whirl.

"Army Life" offers an unfiltered look into military service, exploring the psychological scars of combat. Rarely do books delve into these darker aspects, making this narrative a compelling and necessary read. Excited to explore this world with empathy and curiosity.

Military life is not for the faint of heart, as Darryl describes in his book. Readers who want to know more about the military and what they would expect if they joined will enjoy this nonfiction book. Thanks for the review!

Army life is a journey full of courage and determination. I must commend Darryl Jefferson for his honestly while writing his life's experience in the army. He goes through a lot and does many things some of which he never thought he would do. His authenticity makes me recommend this book to anyone aspiring to join army. Having knowledge of what to expect will help them make their decision right.
Thank you for such a detailed and comprehensive review.

Thank you for your review.
It contains sufficient elaboration on the plot and sheds light on the experience of your read.
The true life account of Army Life sounds like a book of deep revelation in terms of the experience of a soldier. It's lovely that the author has chosen to touch on the effects that war and violence have on the mental health of many serving men.
Congratulations to the author for sharing his in-depth adventures as realistically as possible 👏

I guess I don't get the dream of being part of the Army because I don't live in a country with military culture. But I'm glad the author's account is honest so future recruits can know what it's like.
Thank you for your detailed analysis.

Definitely not my cup of tea, because no offense, but in my opinion, no sane person can be "obsessed with joining the Army and constantly dreamed of being deployed to fight in a war", essentially wishing to become a killer. While I admire people that do what they must to defend their land from invaders, attackers are also soldiers and commit war crimes willingly.
