"Dear Heroine" is an emotional book with a lot of life lessons that I will encourage parents or to be parents to read. Addiction is a canker worm that eats deeper that you can imagine. I felt the pains of the writer and as well her undeniable inner strength through the period of treatment and eventually the death.
The reviewer did a good job by giving a great insight about the book.

The conclusion is there at the beginning. Read the book to find out how a chipper child gets taken away by heroin. Readers learn how drugs not only affects the ones taking them but also their families.
I write the best reviews possible. :idea2:

What a heart-touching story. The loss of a son through a drug is really heartbreaking. And her journey where she finds herself. The book represents the situation of family when one person is suffering and how that Affects the whole family dynamics and their pain and suffering as well.

Dear Heroin is a deeply moving and truthful description of the strong, destructive hold of compulsive dependence. Morrison’s steady, unchanging love for her son shines through, making this memoir a powerful and heartbreaking read.

Dear Heroin: A Memoir of Goodbyes is a perfectly written book that stems from a mother's heart of love and the hurt of losing a child. I find it brave to allow the whole world into the happy memories the family shared.

“Dear Heroin” by Linda Morrison is a true story of Linda Morrison fighting for her son’s life due to his heroin addiction. Sadly, drug addiction is more than the person addicted because it affects the entire family and in Linda’s case her son Mike died from an overdose. Mike was a really nice guy that easily made friends. He went through rehab several times over a four-year period and he really tried to kick the habit but eventually he would relapse. As a parent I cannot imagine having to deal with one of my children or grandchildren having a drug addiction. This must have been a difficult book for Morrison to write but by doing so she may prevent other families from having to deal with this problem or make it easier to handle knowing what to expect.

Thank you for your great review. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I enjoyed how the author wrote the book and her bravery for being so open and honest. I think this will be a book that is hard for me to read and will need lots of tissues, but one that everyone needs to know about this information. It can happen to any of us. I have added it to my list of books to read.

Thank you for the review. I sampled the book. It seems best for readers who are parents to learn awareness. A sad story, but it could save someone's life; so, because of that, it is worthwhile reading it. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

The review provided valuable insights. The book appears deeply compelling, as the author courageously shares her personal journey through the heartbreaking loss of her son to addiction. Revisiting such painful memories requires immense strength, and the author deserves admiration for this brave and vulnerable storytelling.

This book seems like a powerful reminder of how devastating addiction can be, not only for those struggling with it but also for their loved ones. The author’s honest storytelling captures the intense heartbreak, hope, and strength that families experience. A deeply moving read for anyone who wants to understand the impact of addiction on families.

Addiction is surely a family disease and can be vicious cycle. Its easier said then done when it comes to purging the body’s unhealthy cravings. This is book I plan on reading. I like how the author describes her son before the addiction and after.

I never understood why it's so difficult to stop whatever you addicted too, as I don't have a addictive personality. That was until the day I had to stop smoking. I know a person can't compare something as simple as smoking to herion, but in the end to stop was one if the hardest things to do. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be with something as addictive. The turmoil as mother and family to work through this must be tremendous. I do respect those addicts that do try. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD and thanks for the free book.

This is a detailed review. It's bad when we get addicted to something. It leads us to loosing our close friends and everything we've earned for years. The good thing is that everyone can break the chains of addiction it they are willing.

For a mother, it is heartbreaking to see a child suffer. I can't even imagine living through 4 years of addiction, rehab and recovery, just to do it all over again when Mike relapses. Thank you for your informative review.
