I have had cats my whole life so it was nice to see some things that I already knew validated and make me feel like I was a good pet owner. I only read the sample but the history of cats and their practical uses was really cool. The idea of people showing up with kittens and saying yeah this thing will take care of your vermin problem lol! I am sending this to a friend that is getting her first cat!

I already know several individuals to whom I must recommend this book! First is the neighbor with the really fat tabby; second is a co-worker who, despite her great love for cats, always gets to be scratched and bitten. It's a great book for people who want to keep cats or who are already keeping them as it gives detailed explanation about cat's character, food and their lives as they grow older. One shocking thing I've learnt from this book is that cats are lactose intolerant in that milk isn't their favorite food. It's a great book ,though no for me as i don't like keeping animals .
