I'm not sure I like the character himself, that's the problem for me when I read the sample of this book. However, honesty is always something to be admired.

Wow, this sounds like an amazing account on a young man's life experiences. I find it amazing that through this author's account, he is able to provide life lessons to his readers. It's interesting about the author's political correctness, but I'm glad that you were able to enjoy his account regardless. Thank you for an insightful review!

The author had me from the sample, not only can I relate as a local girl near Arlington, Texas, but I know this kid he's writing about. I grew up with him. The author is able to draw the reader into his world, whether you're from a small town in Texas or a big city in California, you can identify, because he bares his soul. Thank you for the review!

This one sounds good. Don't know if I'll read it since I don't read a lot of nonfiction, but I'm glad to hear someone's being honest these days.

Sounds like a fantastic story, however, I have never been too into real-life stories.

Great review,it leaves us with that appetite to want to read and review. Your line of thoughts in the review is what is really exciting. It is like you read the book to help us understand it in simpler terms to decide to go for it.

As you have narrated, the story seems realistic and intriguing throughout. Apart from open experiences of the author, the book title will make any boy or man be attracted to it and shocking details of what goes on in the military also draws my interest of reading the whole story. Worth noting is your description of authors journey from childhood to manhood, which is a raw, honest, and collection of brutal experiences, lessons, achievement, and growth. Thanks for this great review, and congrats to the author of BOTD for receving this positive, honest review.

Am I a man yet? is a novel that talks about the fact that every great man you see was once a boy who made mistakes while he was young. Great review.

I don't really read many memoirs, especially those of a military nature, but this definitely sounds like an interesting read. Thanks for your insightful review!

This books sounds like it's been excellently written. However I'm at a loss how he can equate going into the military with I am becoming a man. I think anyone who joins the military is very childish at best, and suicidal at worse. Thanks for the great review, but I'm going to give this one a wide berth!

I love reading autobiographies! It's like real experiences from real people. Sometimes, it also helps us examine ourselves. Good jon on the review.

I have a newfound love for engaging autobiographies, and this one definitely sounds engaging. The sample was graphic and raw, and I am assuming the rest of the book is as well. Thank you for your review!

Good review. An unfiltered look at the military by one who has been there is a different take on military life.
