God is the true path and the truth. God can illuminate our life and bring redemption to it. This enthralling book by Ruth Ferguson proves once more that our lives can always thrive again, that faith can be strengthened, and that healing is possible whenever our hearts are open to Him.

It is very admirable that writers like these find the courage to share their story and try to help others through their experiences.
Emotional abuse in a family is terrible and it is very helpful to have stories like this to help others in the same situation to feel supported and understood.

I cannot wait to take a look into the journey of Ruth's life as a transformative one through despair to hope and prosperity. This is my type of reading material because you get to watch someone's firsthand perspective of their life. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Abuse has many forms and too many victims to keep count. In this book, Ruth Ferguson takes a brave stand and shares her story. What should have been a happy, loving marriage soon turned into a nightmare.

This is an emotional and powerful chronicle of the author's journey in survive abuse. Emotional abuse, just like physical abuse is something terrible and hard to overcome. But surviving is one of the most powerful things a victim can do.

Ruth's vulnerability really struck me. She doesn't hold back in sharing her pain and struggles with grief and difficult relationships. It felt like she was confiding in a close friend, and that honesty made her journey all the more powerful.

Thank you for your informational review. I also enjoyed Ruth's style of writing from what I sampled. Sometimes it is easier to see what is going on from the outside, but also it is harder when you are in the middle of it. I also know when someone tells you what is going on, it often pushes you even further in the situation. I have added it to my list of books to read, but I have to be careful it doesn't push buttons in me though.

It's heartbreaking that Ruth went through such an abusive relationship from the person that was supposed to take care of her: her husband. I'm glad she found the strength to overcome this and even write a book to help others going through similar situations.

While I understand perfectly well how a "first-hand account of navigating and overcoming an abusive relationship" can provide useful knowledge for certain people and readily applaud the author for being able to lay out her experience to help others in the same situation, I will have to pass the book, because such tales are way too harsh on my emotions. Still, congratulations on BOTD!
