Dave Husband's memoir "AMERICAN COASTGUARDS UNST & THE B.P. OILY BLACKS(1978)" is an intriguing memoir of a construction worker's life, including both good and bad times. It's remarkable how the author recounts his experiences in a humorous style so that future generations will comprehend how life was and how they worked in the construction business at the time.

This review is fantastic! I’m immediately intrigued by the title and the description of Dave’s adventures, both in the construction industry and with the American coastguards. I also think it’s very interesting how you described the characters as well, as it makes me curious to learn more about them. It also seems as if the author had a varied and eventful life.

It is really an interesting read offering a glimpse of life in the Shetlands before the explosion of commercial activities and increase of people (accommodation ships) in the region of England/Norway. The author reminisces about the camaraderie he enjoyed with the Americans—such as the out-of-place coastguards, blending sports from diverse cultures, for example, American football and rugby. Various work and life experiences shape the author and other characters positively and negatively. An interesting read indeed!

Nothing beats first-hand experience or live witness view of events. Therefore, this book will provide interesting insight and helpful information. Congrats with BOTD!
