This is absolutely fascinating. I have always felt that not much has been known about Judas or the role he served in scripture, outside of the betrayal. I am intrigued by the self-sacrifice as it is portrayed here.

The work of Robert Wahler is such a stunning findings. They is a great disparity between the Gnostics school of thought compare to the contemporary Christian teachings as we know today.
The Gnostic traditions of succession and sacrifice is posing a big question to the knowledge available to us. And this is a ping pong game. Who wins at the end is what Robert Wailers has tried to reveal to us.

Indeed, Misreading Judas is not an easy read. For a book like this with such elaborated details.

I think this book must be suitable for Bible scholars or those who have a basic knowledge of theology.

Thank you for the detailed review.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Benji.

Not interested in religious books so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. There are some intriguing aspects/different perspectives that will be appreciated by those who like this genre.

Wonderful work on the in-depth review. Religious subjects are controversial most of the time. To even mention, Judas was misinterpreted by religious scholars is very bold of the author.

I have never heard anything like this. Judas being a beloved and obedient disciple rather than a betrayer?...Na, I don't believe it. Sorry, I guess I am not that open minded.

Thank you for this excellent review. There are definitely many varying views and theories concerning the role of Judas. The fact that the author went into a fact-finding mission makes this book even more interesting.

I like your review. It was enlightening and persuasive. I agree with you about the target audience of the author. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

This is, certainly, an interesting book. I'm quite open-minded but I do wonder what are the credentials of the author to make such affirmations. Is he a historian? Theologist?
I'm sure there's more to the Bible than what we usually interpret, but I'm not sure how much of these new theories are developed just for shock value.
Anyhow, your review is thorough and surprisingly easy to read for such a complicated theory. Thanks!

I have to admit that I'm not very interested in reading this book. I'm not a religious person and don't think that these new findings will change the way I view the Bible or Jesus or Judas. But thank you for the great review :)

Thank you for your in-depth review. I had never heard of this viewpoint about Jesus and Judas. Many people will be offended by this book, but I try to keep an open mind about religion. It sounds like it is a difficult read, but I am glad that the author makes this material more understandable. Congratulations to the author on being chosen as BOTD.

I absolutely don't agree with the author's opinions about Judas. However, I like to read these kind of books to see what others believe. I am intrigued on how he comes to his conclusions. Thanks for your wonderful review.

Sounds interesting. Judas isn't an area of overwhelming interest for me, but the author has clearly done his research. Thanks for your review!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
