I love that the author addressed all types of family units in a positive way. I've only read the sample, but it seemed that even as she pointed out some of the disadvantages that might be faced by specific types, she was careful to explain that any type could succeed. Thanks for the very positive review!

I do agree that extended families are very important in a child's life if possible. This seems to be a well-written book on the structure of modern families. Thanks for a wonderful review!

While you gave a very well written review, I will probably skip this one. I agree that family structure should be the strength you always have to lean on I don't think this book is for me.

Non fiction books are not something I would choose for reading in my free time but I do understand the importance of a family and agree that positive communication within a family results in a loving, caring, and supportive relationship for children. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

It is a book that talks about the structures of the family unit, highlights the circumstances that can cause single parents or families of adoptive parents, among many other models. It offers examples of family types and parenting styles backed by evidence of the well-being exhibited in family life. Doubtlessly a good option.

This book might hold much interest for certain people, but unfortunately I am not the type. I dislike non-fiction in general and additionally in this case subject matter is way out my area of expertise. Congratulations on BOTD!

There is nothing harder than being a parent. Though at times it may be hard but there is also a lot of fulfillment and happiness that children bring to our existence. Nobody is perfect is no understatement. A book like this goes a long way and I am sure it will be a beneficial welcomed asset.

A well-written book that tells about "the various structures of the family unit" sounds an interesting read for fans of non-fiction books. It is not my genre, but I got my copy. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the detailed review!

The book is interesting. Family is important factor in a child's life and a means of support and shelter to a child. Family is important in reinforcing a child's vision towards the outer world and life, in general. Family structure, thus, have a clear impact in the child's upbringing. The review on the book was quite auspicious. I'm interested in reading this book. Thank you for the great review. :tiphat:

Loved the sample pages that I read. Also loved the review. I personally believe that grandparents play a vital role in the upbringing of children. My mother in law passed away last year, and my son still remembers her fondly. They were very close and spent a lot of quality time with each other. I would be definitely interested in reading about the variojs family structures.
