The belief in our household growing up was that men were the head of the household, and women were supposed to obey the man. I'm glad that someone is challenging that this is what God wanted. I would be interested in the information in the Bible that we are equal. Thanks for your wonderful review!

I appreciate that the book explains its subject, which is equality, by quoting the scriptures from the Old to the New testament. This is a great resource which I would love to read entirely. Thanks for a wonderful review. Congratulations BOTD.

The role of women in the Church is often debated. I wonder how she explains the "controversial" verses. Thank you for the review.

A book about feminism seems to be interesting.

Thank you for the great review.

The topic being feminism is quite interesting and it would be fascinating to see how the author approaches the matter. It would most certainly be informative but unfortunately I don't think that this is the type of book that I would enjoy all that much. I would however recommend it to all those who might like it.

Im not favorable when reading feminist challenges. As for equality in the Bible 1st Corinthians Chapter 7 explains the role of husband and wife. Then there are scriptures in Ephesians Chapter 5:25 that state husband and wife become as one. This #BOTD appears to challenge the Bible. Good review but I'm passing on this one.

A book that brings up the issue of gender discrimination with focus has given rise to feminist theology that proposes the study of Scripture and religious traditions from the perspective of women. A reading that may interest feminists and theologians.

While I am interested in this topic generally, I don't know if it will be able to hold my interest. You have persuaded me to give it a shot.

Also, thank you for introducing me to a new word: ecumenical.

Great review. Though I may not completely agree with everything in the book, it's actually good that someone is attempting to speak about feminism through the eyes of the church

I appreciate the need for gender equality in religion. It seems weird that people with faith should be treated any differently to someone else with the same faith. Thanks for the review.

An interesting book, glad it exists as some people seem to believe the two ideas of church and feminism cannot exist with each other.

Thank you for the review!

I think this is a very sensitive subject and in my opinion, on the borderline of changing the Bible to fit your view instead of the other way around. I might have to read this book to find out what the author meant by "feminist". Great job on your review.

While there are still some people and churches who believed that women should take the backseat and be quiet, that is the minority opinion. I'm sure this study is fascinating and well researched. Great job on a difficult subject and congrats on BOTD

This is not my genre but the book really got me thinking about the topic and how the Bible portrays it. I think I will read this one to see things for my self.
