This heartfelt review of "First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough" by Mark Unger is touching and inspiring. Lou's journey and his parents' advocacy for his treatment truly moved me. The inclusion of photographs added a personal touch to the story. However, the grammatical errors and technical medical descriptions concern me a bit. Despite that, I am still interested in reading this book because of the powerful message it conveys and the hope it offers to families facing similar challenges.

The story of Louis is quite encouraging. His mother demonstrates an unshakeable resolve to see that her three-year-old son who was suffering from cancer gets cured. I enjoyed reading your review and more so the book because of its inspiration to those with illnesses. Mark, the author, tells them there is hope. And indeed there is. Thanks for making it the book of the day!

Here it is, that horrible disease again. No 3-year-old should get cancer, not if I could decide! I am happy to hear that this little boy’s story seems to have a happy ending. I am sure this book is an inspiring read and offers peer support to those in similar situations. I am looking forward reading this book.

Apologies, but no, this book is definitely not the one I will ever want to read, because sick kids as a whole and affected by potentially mortal illness in particular aren't the subject to be taken lightly. One out of how many gets lucky? What reading and reliving these awful memories will do to those who wasn't? Does anyone who fortunately avoided such a fate want to know this horror even second-hand?

Family is everything. Louis is blessed to have Mark Unger, Mary Ellen and Harry as family. I feel they consider themselves more to have him as one of them. I am happy for the family. Congratulations on BOTD.

I can't imagine how difficult it was for Louis to grow up and the struggles his parents had to go through. I guess there is a moral behind the book, which I really want to know. Nice review.

This story is such a painful tale as it involves a child coping with the struggle to fight cancer and the toll it has on their family. But also I feel that it was inspirational and motivating. Job well done to the writer for such an amazing story. Congrats on being BOTD

This book is a heart-wrenching view of a family in crisis as they deal with a disastrous cancer invasion that has affected their youngest son. The review is revealing of the journey while maintaining the dignity needed. This is an amazing expose of a true and difficult time in this family's daily life.

Nice book review.
This book will be sure helpful for the persons who are suffering for medical conditions which is very depressive and devastating.
Parent's seven years of struggle and a decision to reveal this to public to be optimistic in any situation is really heart touching.
I really thank the entire crew doctors, clinician scientist, nurses, technician, scientists, all health workers who worked so hard to bring the child out of the disease. This book is an example that nothing is impossible. May the team find so many treatment protocol which is cure so many patients.
I congratulate the entire team.
Congratulations for the good review.

"First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough" by Mark Unger. An interesting life story book, tells the story of Louis's chance of surviving a childhood cancerous disease. The very good thing in this book, Louis parents never gave up on him, even his brother Harry. Louis progressive recovery was just a miracle. Congrats on your #BOTD.

What an inspiring story. I like how Mark did his best to document the struggles of the family managing the debilitating illness of Lou. I am also happy that the parents' 'labors' and determination paid off in making Lou's medical situation to become the story of a survivor.

Just look at the unquantifiable value of parental determination! That's the point that stands out for me in this review. I certainly do not denigrate the central part of the medics in the larger scheme of things, far from it, but Mark and Mary showed them a thing or two.
