It is good that while this author relates her personal experiences, we also get to learn a lot of history lessons simultaneously. Thanks for the terrific review and congrats BOTD!

The title is very intriguing and the issues discussed sound relevant. The issues seem to assure controversy irrespective of whichever stand one takes. Thank you for a lovely review.

There were several books with covers made in similar fashion nominated as BOTD and I have to say that I passed them all. Too socially oriented, too troubled and real to be considered entertainment and since I mostly for that purpose this kind non-fiction doesn't raise my interest. Apologies and congrats!

The author tells of American history while pointing out the racism involved. She includes her own family's background, from her grandfather, biographies of some presidents and quite a bit of history facts. History fans will find a gem in this book. Thank you for a concise and enjoyable review.

Your review was very informative. It made me interested in learning more about the racial diversity in America and why this woman is angry about her social status. I would like to read this book and find out more about the past and current situation of the country through this woman's eyes. Great review!

I live in a country full of racism. Even though I came from an upper cast according to the norms of society; still, it didn't stop many from humiliating me because of my dark skin colour. I feel bad not for myself but for everyone who lives through it daily. Of course, I'm going to read this book as soon as possible.

In my opinion, an author respectfully voicing their opinions is important to have in a book such as this to allow the reader to either agree or disagree with the perspectives given. This sounds like a very powerful and inspirational book, thanks for the great review!

Although this is not a book I would choose to read, I enjoyed your concise review as it gives an excellent description of the book.

This is an interesting unique and modern history book highlighting great study of the Civil Rights Movement and the leaders who paved the way. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle and has well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @MarjoriesBuzz on the BOTD selection.

This sounds like an informative and enlightening historical fiction novel about America's role in slavery and racism, as well as the plight of the average black woman in America. Great review.

This review was really concise (like I imagine the book to be). The book honestly sounds like one that all of us should definitely read, if only to have a more informed awareness of racial history and theory in the United States, and how that can effect the rest of us. In terms of what's mentioned about Donald Trump, he was a controversial figure, so it's not something you can easily objectively discuss, which I fully understand. Thank you for the review!

This is most relevant topic and I am looking forward to digging this book to be enlightened. Racism needs to stop and I hope many will read this to people to be educated and start to practice empathy toward everyone. I liked that other important, current and relevant topics are included in the book like COVID-19. Congrats to the author!

This book seems to approach the issue of racism in the US with a historical perspective, but also talking about nowadays events too. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the informative review!
