My interest has been caught by your review, which is why I'd love to have a copy of this book to read about Mary and the Ortiz family. I'm curious to know if she would be successful in her quest to reunite her family.

A touching story. I'm intrigued by the event that changed Mary's life and the decisions Gregory had to make. This is definitely a book I would like to read, thanks for this interesting review.

I've never read a book like this and I must say, it is a very unique book. The plot, setting and storyline are all unique. I love the concept of family portrayed in the book. This is a wonderful book to pick up.

I wish that every kid in foster care could have a wonderful life. I am happy to see that while it didn't start good for Mary she was able to grow and forgive.

Struggles for people looking for a better life don't always end up like a fairytale. The Ortiz family seemed to go through many. Great review

I'm fascinated to ride through this book and experience Mary’s “journey of growth and acceptance” in a foreign land. Life deals us some difficult cards most times. It’d be wonderful to learn how to adapt to every situation.

I can see from the story in this book that not all attempts to find better opportunities abroad are successful.
The Ortiz family was told that immigrating to America would provide them with the excellent life they desired, but this was not the case.
I advise anyone looking for better opportunities to read this book.
Reading this book's further information on foster care and how systemic children are handled truly piqued my curiosity.
In this book, grief and forgiveness are beautifully explored. Congrats on botd!

While I'm quite confused about the timeline of this book being "the 90s," given that anyone born during that time hasn't reached old age, I think reading Mary's real-life story will be insightful.

This is a touching story. It's unfortunate that the author's mother underwent abuse from her foster family. I'm looking forward to reading to find out whether she fulfilled her goal of uniting the family. Congratulations on making book of the day!

I admit that I do find the title plus the book cover compelling me to explore more from what has been laid out in the review. This review is well detailed and thanks for it.

In everyone of us hearts family is the first thing at least as I hardly believe and this families mother's goal teaches us the same thing. Another thing that we learn from this book is that how it's hard to live with out family and the struggle family members go through to be together. Amazing book.
