This is a good book. Although I don't understand the connection between spiritualism and plumbing, i believe it can be helpful to expertise and households. Wonderful review!

The Truth About Plumbing is the most unusual book I've come across. I had no idea plumbing could have a big impact towards safety. In the sample, I liked how the author put pictures of pipes for readers to understand easily. Thanks for the review. Congrats on the BOTD!

If you’ve ever had to call a plumber for a problem that wouldn’t go away, The Truth About Plumbing, by Avram Friedman, will change your perspective. This book isn’t just about fixing pipes — it’s a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the unseen faults of modern plumbing and the difficulties of plumbers.

And Friedman has a slick way of making what could be a dull subject really interesting.” He makes the science simple, even linking water to physics and spirituality. But the book’s strongest move is showing the often-overlooked struggles of plumbers. They are often blamed by homeowners for chronic issues, yet as this book shows, the root of the problem often exists in the plumbing system itself.

It’s well structured and covers things like various plumbing products, dangers of faulty installations and even plumbing code updates. And there are also judiciously placed images that bring much-needed clarity to technical aspects. The tone is balanced—not too technical nor too casual—which makes for an ideal read for homeowners, tenants and even plumbing students.

One of the few things that I loved the most is the way Friedman infuses humor into the most serious discussions and makes it not only informative but enjoyable. The prose is crisp and, although some very dense information is presented, it is never overwhelming. It’s also well-edited, with only a couple of errors that don’t distract from the enjoyment of the reading experience.

It is a book I recommend to everyone who wants a better understanding of their home. If you’re a homeowner or even somebody thinking about becoming a plumber, this book is gold. A very solid 5 stars — practical, insightful and surprisingly enjoyable to read!

This book is extremely enlightening. Not many people think about plumbing and what it entails. Plumbing is used almost everywhere and I think everyone should read this book to learn more about it. Congratulations on making book of the day!

I have some recurring plumbing issues in my house and I get to call a plumber every now and then. I sometimes feel the problem is from the first plumber. Well, I'd love to see what the author has to say about this.

The author analyzes the plumbing profession and breaks down the science involved. Readers will see the plumber's point of view and understand that while human error is inevitable, a poorly designed water system is bound to cause chaos. The book contains a breadth of valuable information.

This book targets specific audiences, but it sounds interesting for the way that the author explains this kind of topic linking to science, spiritualism and law. I like the book also
discusses the author's education, the challenges he encountered at work and in life, other than plumbing. The review covers some valuable details of the book. It seems that the reviewer is interested in the information about plumbing to give 5 stars.

A book about plumbing is certainly unusual.
Also when you mentioned that the book starts with science...do you by any means mean the 'science of plumbing?'
If I had a house I would definitely buy the book and keep it handy...not necessarily to read but to reference at whenever an issue about my house's plumbing resurfaces.

While as most civilized society, I do "water plumbing system in your home" I don't think I am willing to get into the science behind modern plumbing or the history of the subject evolving over time. This topic isn't in the sphere of my interest, and I am afraid I will have to stuck with necessity to call a plumber and hope it won't be frequent. Still, congrats on BOTD!

This is a very insightful review. It does a great job of capturing the essence of The Truth About Plumbing and highlighting its strengths. The way you emphasize the author’s balanced approach, humor, and ability to simplify complex topics makes the book sound both engaging and informative. I however feel a bit confused as it seems that the book also references to plumbing in a metaphorical sense when you mentioned the spirituality of water.

One is quick to blame the plumber, but the modern plumbing system comes with its own set of cons. The author addresses them and uses humor to break down the complex explanations. The author talks about science and spirituality often linked with water.

I initially thought to myself that this book isn't what I would want to read. But I see that the author did a good job of making it an educative and enjoyable read. And if I own a house and need water running in the house, then this book is for me. It doesn't all have to be left for the plumbers.
