As an Indian, this story feels like it would be personal for me. A lot of stuff happens over there in Afghanistan that has ripple affects here in India. I am intrigued by the story, and I will be sure to give the book a read.

This is a refreshing perspective of the happenings in Afghanistan told by someone who's lived it. I normally don't read nonfiction, but I'll check this book out.

The idea of hearing a survivor's account can offer a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding the events in Afghanistan. It reflects the power of storytelling in shedding light on the human experience amidst challenging circumstances.

Once Upon A Time In Afghanistan: The Journey of Hope by Nazila Sawhney is a beautiful literary work that exposes the beauty, partly now lost, of a country as exotic and interesting as Afghanistan through the childhood experiences of its author in that country.

I think that seeing the condition of Afghanistan from a survivor's perspective will bring new insights about the differences, then and now, of the country's situation to the world.
As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will always exist.

Thank you for the review.
The story of Nazila's life as described in this book seems intriguing. I don't have a clue about life in Afghanistan now or in the past and so it seems like it would be like a new world to me.

Thank you for your informative review of "Once Upon A Time In Afghanistan" by Nazila Sawhney. I am looking forward to reading this memoir of Nazila's experience of growing up in Afghanistan then having to leave her country because of war. She faced many challenges after leaving her country and this sounds like an interesting read. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.
