I encourage every individual with no exception to read this book. Developing Resilience by Penny Christian Knight is a memoir about her struggles. What did she pass through, and how did she navigate and become a stronger and more impactful woman? We can all find answers to these questions in the book. Congrats on the book of the day and a well-written review.

There are many good people in the world, but there are those who take advantage of the ones who have been hurt by bad people. Penny's bravery in sharing her story is admirable. Thanks for the great review!

The book dealt with resilience beautifully, and from the sample I see that the story presented the idea of not accepting reality, no matter our mistakes, but rather what can be changed must be changed. The review is detailed and interesting. Congrats on BOTD

Thank you for your informational review. Penny's courage is amazing. Her honesty and how she wrote so factually, are admirable. It's also wonderful that it was edited so well. I'm glad that you enjoyed reading the book. I don't believe it is a book for me, but I hope that others will like to read it and learn from Penny's experiences

Thank you for your insightful review on "Developing Resilience" by Penny Christian Knight. This book not only is a story of Penny's life of sexual abuse, traumatic marriage and more ups and downs but also it is a self help book with a range of tools and techniques for developing resilience, cognitive reframing and mindfulness practices strategies. This book gives a little reminder to never give up in the face of life's challenges. Mistakes indeed should not dictate the course of our lives and Penny has given us a helpful book telling how she broke her own cycle.

I appreciate the author's sharing in writing. I agree that this book will resonate with victims of toxic relationship, both men and women. Humans are prone to making mistake. and anyone could be the victims of sexual abuse. This book is an emotional roller coaster of a raw and honest account from the author's traumatic journey. I think this is too much for me. Thank you for your positive review.

Definitely not my cup of tea starting from the genre and the fact it is way too dark even with the promise of a possible happy ending. Don't get me wrong, coping mechanisms are important, but in my opinion, not many positive psychological strategies can suit everyone. Sorry, I will have to skip, but congrats anyway!

This is a very traumatic telling of the author’s experiences across her life. Her memoir is split into three books, of which this is book one. However, she includes a disclaimer that this may be triggering to those who have also experienced trauma.
