Congrats on BOTD. I personally don't like the cover, but so far the book seems theologically sound. However, from my own encounters, I would go further to say that the reason most people don't read the Bible is not so much that it is hard to understand, but that the devil has lied that it is boring; that watching movies is more interesting. But for those that are really interested, yet struggle, this book can shine a little light. Yes, the whole Bible is definitely about Jesus.

I always enjoy reading your reviews! In this one, I especially liked how you explained that William Davis’s writing made the book feel like a story rather than a sermon, and how that sparked your own interest in reading more of the Bible. I think it’s great when the Bible is made more accessible and engaging for readers.

As a Christian it is expected of us to read the Bible everyday and know what it's teaching us. But taking out the time to read and especially understanding it's teaching can be a difficult task. However with such book available it is simpler for us to read and understand what Bible is about in a nutshell. Great work!

“The History of Jesus: The Bible in a Nutshell” by William Davis is concise and easy to read summary of the Old and New Testaments in a 122-page book. The Old Testament begins with the creation of Adam and then his wife Eve and continues the lineage that ultimately ends with the birth of Jesus Christ. The New Testament covers Jesus’s life, death and resurrection. I have read the entire Bible a few times in the past ten years and a concise easy to read book would encourage more people to read the book. God created man in a perfect image of Himself but as a result of disobedience became imperfect with a “free will” and a tendency to commit sin. Jesus died on the cross to cleanse Original Sin. Jesus also demonstrated how people should live and as a result man could gain eternal salvation. This an excellent book.

I really appreciate how this review highlights the clarity and conciseness of The History of Jesus: The Bible in a Nutshell. As someone who occasionally finds the Bible challenging to navigate, it’s encouraging to hear that William Davis presents the material in a way that feels more like a story rather than a sermon. The idea that we can’t hide from God because He knows our hearts resonated with me as well—it’s such a powerful reminder of His omniscience. I also found it intriguing that the book delves into why God sent His only son rather than an angel to die for our sins. Your enthusiasm for the book increasing your interest in reading more of the Bible has piqued my curiosity. It sounds like Davis’s book is an excellent guide for those looking to deepen their understanding of the Bible’s teachings. Thanks for your insightful review!

I like when stories about God are shared in this way. The Bible is quite voluminous and can sometimes feel overwhelming to read cover to cover, especially since it contains a variety of content like songs, history, meditations, sermons, and accounts of Jesus' activities. This author has presented the story in a way that Christians or those interested in learning about Biblical themes will find engaging. However, I do hope this method of presenting scripture does not water down important spiritual terms in an effort to simplify it for better understanding. I'm excited to explore this author's work, as this is a topic that really interests me. Thanks for the inviting review and Congratulations to the author on being selected BOTD.

This sounds like a great way to get more people who are inclined towards the Christian religion to be more interested in the Bible or for those just interested in understanding more to get to know the Bible without feeling they have gone against their religion by actually reading the Bible.

In today’s world, where Christians often struggle to reflect on and return to the Bible—their most sacred text—this book is essential for rekindling that habit and urgency. William Davis has addressed a critical issue with this work, and I loved the part I read from the sample. It’s a wonderful review as well. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

The author successfully simplifies the old and new testaments of the Bible for the general reader to understand easily. Those who read this book will develop a keen interest in reading the Bible. The author helps the reader understand why God sent his son to die for our sins.
