I believe everyone should defend their culture. It’s important to know where you stand when it comes to your country. 5 star review for this book is amazing.

The author's exploration of how factors like sports, religion, land rights, and exploitative international interests have reshaped and diminished traditions sounds like a sobering wake-up call for everyone of us.This book is a true eye-opener. It unveils the silent normalization that distinguished cultures are going through, not only in South Africa

'Official Review: Isazisi: The Book' by Bongani Yona takes an in-depth and close look into the non-fiction work. It reflects on the essence of the book. The point that the book is an eye-opening account of South Africa's cultural disintegration is worth mentioning in the review. Also, as mentioned in the review, the author sheds light on land ownership issues, migrations, politics, globalization, etc. Readers would learn how sports and religion also transformed the culture. Learning that the Isazisi feature film script was the source of inspiration for this book was great!

It's sad to hear that South African culture is being lost. The loss of culture is a concerning issue for any country. I believe young people, especially Africans, should read this book to become aware of this issue.

Thank you for your review. It has helped me understand what this book is about. South Africa is a part of the world that I have never really thought about or known anything about. It is wonderful that the author, with all his passion and anger, brings this information out in the light. I hope the author's book will reach people who can make a difference and help change direction.

This is an insightful review.
I have mixed feelings, though, about the content. I do appreciate, respect, and value the author's views.
I was born in RSA and have grown up in a timeline where my perspective of the disintegration, political, racial, and other related matters, slightly differ in context and perspective due to my own experiences. I do see that despite the disintegration and hurts of the past ( which affect the presence of diverse cultures in RSA), there is also a cultural blend( which is not generally favored due to holding onto the past in hurt). This new culture emerging through the present injustices, fueled by the past, encourages a transition that leans towards healing, unity, and hope for our future generations.
I will save this for a later read to gain further insight in connecting with the author's insight and history, as I am sure there is much that I may gain from this book.

I wasn't aware of how sports also played a role in discriminating against African players. I think this book contains several themes, history and culture that are very important for everyone to understand. I look forward to reading the book. Thank you for your review!

"Isazisi: The Book" by Bongani Yona explores South Africa's cultural disintegration since Apartheid. Inspired by a film script, it highlights issues like land ownership, globalization, and the exploitation of African sports players. Yona's insights emphasize the critical need to address cultural loss to preserve honor. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you for a great review.

The book "Isazisi: The Book" by Bongani Yona offers a poignant critique of South Africa's cultural erosion, exposing the subtle yet devastating impact of historical and contemporary factors on indigenous people, land, and identity. Such a wonderful Masterpiece would definitely add it to my bookshelf.
