This review has been written beautifully. It very well captures the essence of the memoir and tells about the salient features of this book. I think the descriptive imagery of the island painted by the author is the main highlight of this book. Congratulations on BOTD!

I don't like non-fiction as a genre completely, but memoirs and autobiographies in particular. Therefore, unfortunately, I will have to pass this book. Still, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you to find your readers, because after reading this review, consider your book to be something special. Congratulations on BOTD!

"Island in the Sun" appears to be a fascinating and instructive read. There is no more suitable person to describe a place than someone who has been forced to migrate there; their perspective and life experience are unique and appear to be more relevant because they are constantly comparing everything with other environments.

Island in the Sun sounds like the perfect read for anyone wanting to learn more about Jamaica. The fact that it is told from a child point of view is endearing. Congratulations on BOTD!

Mentioning the author's sense of humor attracted me. I, personally, would enjoy reading a book written with a sense of humour. I am very fond of the lifestyle of people living on an island. Your review gave me the chance to go on a lovely trip to Jamaica before actually reading the book. I am so excited to delve into the great experience the author had in this beautiful island.

Monica's life journey sounds adventurous. I would love to follow through and learn about her experiences. Plus, I'm interested to explore different cuisine, culture, people, and history that made up Monica's life experience while in Jamaica and England. I find the autobiography to be worth reading.

Love your review. Jamaica sounds like a lovely place. The story about a family moving to a new country. This is very interesting, and I am excited to read this book. I cannot wait to find out what all her and her brother are able to get into. She mentions in the sample that she was never bored on the long boat ride because she had her brother to accompany her. Also having a little sister, I am sure these three have some stories to share. Congratulations on BOTD!!

From that review, I have gathered that
Island in the Sun by Monica Carly is a beautifully written autobiography that vividly captures the author's childhood experiences in Jamaica. The book is praised for its rich descriptions of Jamaican culture, contrasting with the protagonist's English background, and for offering readers a fresh perspective through the eyes of a young girl. The review highlights that it is a highly recommended read for those interested in learning about life in Jamaica or experiencing a foreign culture through literature.

Relocating to a whole new place at a young age would require a lot of mental strength. Based on the review, Monica may have been overwhelmed by how different everything is at first, but it seems like she embraced Jamaica eventually. Congrats on the BOTD!

I don't know a lot about Jamaica, so I'm very interested in reading this book so I can learn more. I'm sure Jamaica has changed a lot since that period so I hope there's an update too.

From the review the book it's about Monica's adventure in Jamaica as a child and a Minister's daughter. I like how she seems to appreciate the differences in culture ,food and everything between England and Jamaica. And how she talks about the changes one can undergo while in the new place. The reviewer also said that pictures have been used to show different things , I'm a big fun of books with pictures cause you will have a deep understanding of what the author is saying. It's a captivating book for those who like adventuring .
