This book is a powerful resource for understanding the complex dynamics of narcissistic behavior and its impact on children. The author's detailed explanations and real-life stories provide a compassionate framework for both recognizing and healing from these experiences. Nice review.

The truth is, as much as narcissistic people hurt those around them, they need help, even if they can't see it or admit it. I'm glad this book points to the way of healing for them.

I would love to be the best mum to my kids. Making them go through trauma may have a lot of negative impacts on their lives in the future. Congrats on the BOTD and thanks for the review.

One thing I learned from life is that not all parents deserve to be parents. Even the smallest action a parent takes can profoundly affect a child's life. We might not notice it immediately, but it reflects in their behavior and character as they grow up. Healing from childhood trauma is incredibly difficult, and I'm grateful for authors like Kelly Todd, who write books to help those kids.

Having narcissistic parents can impact a child horribly. The author shares the story of a man married to a narcissistic wife with whom he has a child. He committed suicide afterwards. The author explains what narcissism looks like and shares ways to heal from narcissism.

Being narcistic is pretty much being focalized on oneself. It is not a good comportement to have when in a relationship, and worse, when you are supposed to be a parent. Being parent is to be responsible and give a lot of your attention to your family. It is really sad for the man to have suffered so much that he chosed to take his life, and it is even sadder for the child to grow up in that family because he will have the feeling that he was not wanted. From what i get from this review, it shows that the author has also thought of adding in how to heal from narcissism. Thanks to the author and thanks to you too for your review.

Growing up in an environment where you feel unloved is a very painful one, but even more painful when that 'environment' is your family, a place where you are meant to feel safe and sheltered from the 'cold' outside. Except one heals from that feeling of rejection, it brings a negative effect on the person's life in general. Congratulations on BOTD.

It is indeed important for us to understand what narcissistic behavior is, so that we can get to find help earlier. Our loved ones should not suffer emotional abuse becauseof us, more especially kids whose minds are still developing. Overall, I love the subject matter of the book and I would love to page through. Thanks for a wonderful review.
