"Unexpected Lessons From Professor Higgins" by Patti Smith explores the profound journey of a mother and her son with Down syndrome, delving into the unexpected challenges and lessons they face after his diagnosis. The story promises to examine the emotional and practical impacts of raising a child with special needs in a world often unprepared for such circumstances. Congratulations on BOTD.

I like that the author focuses on themes such as unconditional love, forgiveness, self-discovery, and patience. The author breaks the stigma surrounding Down syndrome. It's a beautiful story that is also educational.

Physical or mental, does it really matter to a parent which causes a child to suffer? To love and cherish nonetheless is most admirable, the mark of true parents, despite all circumstances and hardship. But I won't be reading this book, even though I wholeheartedly congratulate the author on BOTD!

It must be heartbreaking for a mother to learn that her child has Down syndrome, and I'd like to know how both she and Christopher cope with the situation.

Hi @mytkreadingreview, I just read your comments on the official review of "Unexpected Lessons from Professor Higgins" by Patti Smith and I think you needed to add more background from the story that shows you read the official review and the sample. i.e. This is a wonderful story about a women’s love for her child born with Down Syndrome. Patti learned from her son Chris and faced what society says about children with Down Syndrome. The family she created was exceptional. Unconditional love is so obvious in the relationship Patti has with Chris. Seeing life through a different lens perfectly describes Patti, her husband and Chris who had siblings that were wonderful and totally loved him. This book brings tears to one’s eyes. It is wonderful and the display of unconditional love was incredible and heart warming. @Mrlefty0706

Unexpected Lessons From Professor Higgins,” by Patti Smith, sounds wildly inspiring. Chris and his Mom journeying through life with down syndrome is really heartwarming. Unconditional love, growth and acceptance are some themes that deepen the resonance. Patti has written a book that every person alive should read, as her tone of warmth and humor make it never tiresome, and that it is a fermentation of both tragedy and triumph, which we all should be interested in.

Hi @Atieno Magero, I just read your comments on the official review of "Unexpected Lessons from Professor Higgins" and yes it was about a child with down syndrome but it was so much more and our responsibility is to demonstrate that we have read the official review and the sample. For example: "Unexpected Lessons from Professor Higgins" by Patti Smith is a wonderful story about a women’s love for her child born with Down Syndrome. Patti learned from her son Chris and faced what society says about children with Down Syndrome. The family she created was exceptional. Unconditional love is so obvious in the relationship Patti has with Chris. I have friends that have on daughter with Down Syndrome and two children that are normal and I saw the love between parents and their daughter. Seeing life through a different lens perfectly describes Patti, her husband and Chris who had siblings that were wonderful and totally loved him. This book brings tears to one’s eyes. It is wonderful and the display of unconditional love was incredible and heart warming. @Mrlefty0706
