Be Free And Live by Dr. Porfirio Matos is a religious educational non-fiction book. The book was published in 2018 by Xulon Press. The book seeks to improve our relationship with God by helping the reader have a better definition of God. He seeks to help us fight off the devil by understanding what the devil uses to tempt mankind.

Who is God? The first chapter of this book tries to determine what this question entails. The author suggests that the first assumption is that God is an individual with a personality of his own. This assumption suggests that he has specific traits and characteristics, maybe even physical attributes. The second assumption is that God is the creator and destroyer of worlds, an entity to be feared or one to be loved and worshiped. The third assumption suggests that God is an unfathomable being compared to those seen so far. The author is of the opinion that all three assumptions might be true. He explains that God is our savior. He says that with the Lord as our savior, the devil does not stand a chance. The second chapter in this book tackles the creation of man in an attempt to explain man's nature. He explains that man was created from dust. This makes man impure and imperfect. The breath of life that animated man made him holy. The author explains the conflict that resides in man due to his creation. The third chapter of the book seeks to define the enemy of man and creation. It explains the true nature of the devil and his purpose. It also explains how we can defy the devil. What is the true nature of the devil? How can we defy him? What other advice does the author have on faith? All these questions will be answered in this amazing book.

This was a very interesting book for me. The author tackled faith in a refreshing way that intrigued me. The definition of the soul was simple and relatable. I liked reading about the weapons man can use against the devil in the introductory section of this book. They are truth and righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and spirit, and prayer. The author explained how dangerous pride can be. The saying, "Pride comes before a fall" must have a biblical origin. Pride leads to denial of the ultimate reality of God. It can be combatted with humility. The author gives real-life stories of how pride led to Paul's downfall. Believing in himself implicitly led him to ignore the advice of others. This led to the bankruptcy of his company and a divorce. The author describes the nature of man as being willed by two opposing forces within him. His needs and contentment are the forces of evil within him. Man also has the energy of the divine in him. This is shown by his ability to resist evil-doing. He can access it when he really wants to.

The main theme I encountered was faith. The author aims to improve the relationship readers have with God by helping them understand God, the devil, the tools that the devil uses, and the nature of man. The book explains the divine creation of man to show that to be human is to make mistakes, it is the nature of man. I encountered themes like trust, love, belief, pride, fear, guilt, and freedom. The author used these themes masterfully to enhance the message of trusting God.

I rated this book 4 out of 4 stars. The author made this book easy to understand. Every topic he covered was explained in such a way that I gained something. The examples he uses to show the negative effects of pride, fear, addiction, and overeating were amazing. It was easy to understand the topics with highlighted current experiences. I did not encounter a single spelling or grammatical error. This led me to believe that the book was professionally edited. The rhythm of the book was excellent and unstoppable. I did not find anything that I disliked about this book.

I would recommend this book to non-fiction fans. The book would also appeal to readers who enjoy religious and educational books. The author wrote a great book that was concise and only one hundred and seventy-six pages. This is a great length for a non-fiction book. I look forward to reading more of the author's works.

It is great that this book had a nice rhythm and explained well. Many books similar would not be enjoyable. This is clearly a highly Christian interpretation of God. I'm wondering, does the author refer to any other religious worldviews?

Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

Christainaty is not just believing and belonging and living a christian way. It's making certain that God`s people have everything that they need daily in this world to survive. This book is worth four stars because the author speak of words peace, faith, spirit, and righteousness what believers seek every day.

An absorbing review of a book which tackles a favourite subject of mine. I enjoyed the way you summarised the book as well as your comments. The problem of faith is, of course, a contentious issue. An interesting and nicely rounded review.
