Does the math of men add up to the truth of God? Can we literally calculate the answers to God’s divine mysteries? The Roadmap to the End of Days is a brilliant composition exploring these issues; our author is an astute observer and a thorough guide as we seek a solid structure to our grasp on the holy and prophetic word of God.
Followers of Christ will find new understanding of scripture in these pages, an intellectual smorgasbord of concept and fact, through which we can walk more confidently in the light of God’s truth. This new understanding does not provide new comfort, but rather new responsibilities. Faith may appear romantic and naive to some, but Roadmap to the End of Days shows us not just the building blocks but the trowel and mortar of biblical context. Just as the properties of Kabbalah utilized by our author in his research are meant to shine spiritual light in the darkest of human corners, we learn here that we have work to do if we are to keep our feet on God’s path and persevere in faith to the promised land.
Theological scholars and thirsty disciples will find not only a much broader understanding of the information given to us in scripture, but will also discover deeper and more meaningful questions than we have been asking thus far. Patterns of light, patterns of thought, patterns of behavior and patterns of the ages: our author addresses the general nature of the patterns by which we were created and by which we live, which can help us recognize the ways in which we work against the divine will of our Creator, and also guide us in rectifying our process toward balance and harmony.
Those of us new to studying scripture or theological literature will be delighted to find so much background on the historical and societal contexts of many cultures and events barely mentioned in the canonical collection. This rich landscape for our hearts and minds to apply when we are reading scripture provides a whole new experience in bible study, and gives us more reward for our efforts.
We have to wonder about the nature of time itself when we are seeking to base any expanded knowledge, understanding and wisdom in its framework; Friedman takes into account our malleable experience of time when he tackles the dichotomy between man’s distractions and diversions here in Earth, and the faithful, unchanging will of God. This work comes highly recommended for anyone looking to move from milk to meat in their historical and religious education.
